It won't cause you to lose weight, but all the other "stuff" in it isn't really good for you.
I'm addicted to Diet Pepsi, but I'm working myself over to exclusively water.
Try reducing the amount you intake by 10% per week. Take that 10% and switch it to water.
If you don't like just pure water try adding this stuff:

It is really good and you can find it in most grocery stores.
Good luck...you can do it.

Um I guess you could and not worry terribly about weight gain, but really 24 is overkill. All things in moderation, and also drinking too much liquid is always a possible danger. On a final note when I used to drink Dr. Pepper I found drinking too many killed the taste for me, so that could be a problem too albeit a small one.

No, diet drinks are even worse in some ways than real pop. Diet pops have asthpartme in it which is a sugar substitute and there has been studies that it can cause cancer. It could also add some weight onto your body. It also makes your body crave more sugary foods.

You will definitely gain weight plus bloating by drinking that much diet coke. Not to mention the destruction to your bone density. I believe diet coke is addictive so consider why you are drinking that much

how long does it take to drink that many? diet coke doesn't have calories, so it shouldn't make you gain weight. just don't drink a lot each day. drink water most of the time and limit yourself to one diet coke a day. eat right with proper portions and exercise at least 30 minutes every day.

That's way too much soda for one day. You won't gain weight as in fat but you will gain water weight. Diet soda doesn't have any calories to speak of. Eat a healthy diet, drink lots of water and have diet soda only occasionally.
The responder below me is mistaken. Fat and carbs have calories, if a product has no calories it can't have fat or carbs in it.

Even though diet coke has barely any calories, drinking it while on your quest to healthy living will only hinder your progress....Drink alot of water or add some lemon to it...If you really must drink diet soda keep it to a minimum of one a day.

24 cans a day? or what?
diet coke only has about 1 calorie per can, but it is soooo bad for you, full of chemicals and preservatives, and will rot your teeth and insides!
these are also thought to increase your appetite, so beware! go for water instead

i would never recommend soda pop for anyone. gross. do you know what is in that stuff??? they have done studies now suggesting that diet soda causes same amount of damage to cardiovascular system as regular soda. does that sound healthy to you?? it usually has sodium and could cause excess water retention. it has NO nutritional value therefore you're body will be begging for protein and carbs and your metabolism will probably slow down.
no. i would not recommend that.
