what is your opinion of him, he basically was the same man as Joe Smith (except for the fact that Jim Jones had a bachelor's degree and wasnt a racist)
they both deceived many Americans , brainwsashed them and ultimately sent them to hell.
Do you see Jim Jones any differently than Joseph Smith

....If i am not mistaken, Joseph Smith (or one of his soothsayers) said that there will be an ultimate kingdom built in Independence, MO... I live about two hours from there.. nice place. I really like the slot machines they have in their gas stations.. you are the ignorant and misguided one, I looked in the back of the book and i know who is going to win.

Kool Aid wasn't around in 1847, but other than that, the similarities are amazing!

Jim Jones was a sick, twisted man. I don't remember Joseph Smith ever ordering his followers to drink poisoned Kool Aid or anything like that.
Also, Joseph Smith was not a racist. He was running for President of the US on an abolitionist ticket.
Joseph SMith didn't deceive anyone, or brainwash anyone, and it's only your opinion that Joseph Smith, or any of his followers, or even any of the innocent followers of Jim Jones, are in hell.

I believe Jim Jones was a highly confused and disillusioned man who was well spoken and educated. His charisma attracted others and led them to their eventualy death.
Joseph Smith on the other was a prophet called of God to bring forth the Kingdom in the last days.
The fact that you would ask this question only tells me you are misinformed and ignorant (don't mean it in a bad way) to who Joseph Smith the man and prophet was. The fact that many of his prophecies have come true, the bringing forth of the Book of Mormon, and the fact that the Church he restored to this earth is still growing tell me he was a prophet.

Joseph Smith will ultimately be responsible for the spiritual deaths of millions. Jim Jones killed only the followers that went with him to Guyana.

Jim Jones had the decency to clean up his mess rather than leave it with us.

I have been excommunicated from the Morman church but I know of both of these men. I choose not to judge, trust or believe either. I go to the source for truth.
