Tesco's own champagne did very well in a blind taste test.
Experts voted Tesco's £12.99 bubbly better tasting than better-known champagnes such as Moet and Chandon and Bollinger.
The taste test was carried out for the consumer magazine Which? using seven wine experts, none of whom knew which bottles they were trying!!
Moet and Chandon, price £20.47 a bottle, came 13th in the list of 24 champagnes and 11 sparkling wines, while Veuve Clicquot, at £23.99, did slighter better coming in at 11th place.
Bollinger, the most expensive champagne tried at £27.99 a bottle, was in 12th position.
This was from last December so I'm not sure of the price but it can't be more than £20.

Well I certainly wouldn't do what our grossly overpaid footballer do by spending over £200 per bottle , or that prat who spent £100,000 + , these are just obscene in a world where people are starving .
However you can get a fairly drinkable champagne around the £20 -£25 per bottle at all the major supermarkets . watch out for special offers

A vintage champagne is best a Krug A cheap champagne is Marks & Spencers Reserve Brut. It is just as good as the more expensive Moet or Crystal which is over rated

I live in Spain and can get a great Cava for less than 3 euros. No need to spend £20. I have no doubt some Chapagnes are fantastic but for the average person who wants a good bottle at the right price, you can't beat a good Cava

Hi there. I think Crystal is lovely, Dom Perignon is gorgeous, Bollinger is very bubbly, but the bubbles are rather large. If you want to splash out on Champers then go for Marks & Spencer, honestly they are great and a reasonable price. You could also invest a little time and go to a wine shop or supermarket and see what is on offer, who knows what little gem you might find. GOOD LUCK

If money was no object then I'd be drinking and buying Dom Perignon or Krug. If you want one for £20 - £25 them go with Moet

Moet is always a good choice, it is around the price you are willing to spend. If you can, then spring for a bottle of Cristal. But otherwise, it's off to Tesco for some Moet for you.
