After the vaginal births i had sex within 2 weeks, and after my last child who was a c-section i had sex in the 3rd week. Just take it easy and if you get uncomfortable stop. Other than that its up to your body on how you feel. OB's just say 6 weeks so they are in the clear and if something were to happen, they can say they told you 6-8 weeks. I never had a problem. And if you didnt have any stitches thats even better :) Have fun :)

First off - Congratulations!
Whether you give birth vaginally or by C-section, your body will need time to heal. Many doctors recommend waiting six weeks before resuming intercourse. This allows time for the cervix to close, postpartum bleeding to stop, and any tears or repaired lacerations to heal.
But the other important timeline is your own. Some women feel ready to resume sex within a few weeks of giving birth. Others need more time. Factors such as fatigue, postpartum blues and changes in body image may take a toll on your sex drive.

the 6 week rule is bull; my doctor even told me that check up is to give time after delivery and check in with how things are going; if you feel ready, its not painful, and youre not bleeding (unless of course you guys are into that!) youre fine to have sex right away. we had sex for the first time about a week and a half my second time; my first i was awful; i made him wait like 8 weeks. but i felt great the second time! congrats on the new baby and thats awesome you feel so good!! any concerns, check with your doc, but im sure theyll say the same; as long as you feel ok to do it, go for it. just be sure to use protection; you dont want to end up preggo again so soon; breastfeeding is not birth control contrary to what some may say. :) good luck again and congrats!

you are lucky!!! But its just not a good idea to have sex yet, the dr's want you to wait until your post partum checkup (4-6 weeks) to make sure the cervex is closed up again and everything is back to normal. Plus, you can ovulate right after pregnancy, you'd be surprised how many women come to their 6 week check pregnant!! Wait a few weeks.

With my first child, we waited 4 weeks before giving in. The second one? I was bad... 2 weeks. I couldn't wait any longer!!! Just as long as you are very very careful, I don't see the harm in having sex before the 6 wks is up.

Wow sounds like you had a good birth, well done you!
You can have sex as soon as you feel up to it, there are no time limits that you have to wait for.
It's just down to when you feel comfortable.
You go girl!

in the main once you feel ready you can have sex..Just remember that you can get PG again really quickly.. With my youngest we waited about 3 weeks, i'd had no stitches and felt ready, we made sure we took it slowly and used condoms as i was not on the pill at that point and hubs was waiting for his appointment to have the "snip".......
1st baby i waited about 3yrs, cos me and the father had split when i first fell PG......

You can have sex when you feel like it, but go slow to begin with.
For you, it will be a little bit sore and sensetive, for youre partner, in a way, it will feel like he isnt even touching the sides, which may make it hard for him to get any real pleasure.
In time all this will normalise, and the enjoyment will return.
Just take it slow, and dont be afraid to say, "Nope, lets stop, this stings"
Take care

as soon as you are healed, don't feel any pain and stopped bleeding (just to be save) is the right time. Although doctors say about 6 weeks.
