When my son smoked cannabis, he became paranoid, depressed and just totally 'shut down'. Since he gave up he has been a different lad and told me that one time, after having given up, he was persuaded (by his 'mates') to have a couple of puffs of a joint - he became so paranoid that he couldn't come out of the bedroom in his own flat! He also had a couple of fits while he was on it. If you have stopped using it now - good on you - but the anxiety and panic attacks persist, then go and see your GP. Be honest with him about the cannabis use - that may or may not have anything to do with your present feelings. Whether it's due to the cannabis or not, you can get help from various places to deal with those unpleasant emotions. I wish you well.

For me, it has liberated my mind to an extent, and not left any mental problems as of yet.
It can heighten awareness of some issues (And indeed the complete reverse with others) It seems to all come from what the user expects from it.
For example, if you expect to feel ill, you will, if you expect to relax, you will.
The other problems dont always come from the Cannabis, but from what people do to it, like if it is force grown, or over processed, or chemically enhanced.
Because it is Illegal in many places, when you can get it, its difficult to know what its life story is, whereas if you were in holland for example, and smoking some home grown in the back Garden, it usually gives a very pure experience.
If we were to look deeply enough into the issue, we would find Coffee can also produce some wild results, including IBS, Enuresis, and indeed illusions.
Kenco dont put that on the label do they!
Take Care

I stopped smoking when I was finding I couldn't get anything other than the new strong skunk that left me paranoid for 2 years and with extreme memory problems (to the point of losing all my short term memory every 30 seconds or so for about 40 mins).. prior to the experience with skunk.. i was a heavy smoker of resin and all I really sufferer with was very low motivation.
However I have always had mental health problems- I think the skunk just made it worse.. rather than created it.
Cant explain the memory problems though.. also had shaking like i was having a seizure but fully concious.. might ask my own question about that 'cos ive never heard of it before.

I have heard some people say they had anxiety/panic when they used it.
I used to use it. I don't think it caused any new problems but I believe it made my depression worse. I was completely unmotivated and acted like a total jerk. I would never use it again. I haven't had any since I was about 25, I'm 50 now and I don't miss it at all.

No but I do know people who have become paranoid and depressed. Whether they would realise this is doubtful. However they do smoke an awful lot.
Your anxiety and panic attacks may be down to worry rather than the actual amount taken.

There is a slim chance, one of the effects is paranoia but that always is to believe your setting plays that role. It does effect your short term memory in high does. It sounds like you just might have anxiety. And if you have Anxiety getting high would aspirate your anxiety. Have it checked out, there is a few ways it can be treated.

not me. tried it a lot back in the early seventies. trouble with me was it messed up my lungs. bac coughing. passed out coughing a couple of times. maybe an allergy. tried baking it in brownies alice b. style but that tended to cause other troubles. nasuea and blood sugar problems. gave that up too. i certainly knew a lot of people who could smoke all day without any of my problems. the could smoke all the time so they did and they were what i called potheads. one friend got kicked out of west point for smoking pot. moved to dallas and lived on the streets. a real stoner who begged for handouts and gradually went downhill. he is dead and gone, long ago. so when i hear all the good of pot, i remember their is another side to that coin. some people have a "weak gene" that makes them an addict to anything. that is my guess. they get hooked on beer, pot tuna sandwiches and candy and go diabetic, swell up and rot. true, really. i have watched them. so many ways to allow yourself to go downhill, right?
