It'd be a lot more genuine if their book didn't tell them there were rewards for saving others.

Is christianity a pyramid scheme??

They are of equal importance.

We spread the Word as God commands us to do, and hopefully people will listen and join us in Heaven

In life we have good and bad people. It doesn't matter if you in a school, community, tradition of faith (religion of some sort), color etc etc etc. There are good and bad.

There is a comment in the bible about the person who looks like and acts like they are fasting and praying on the street corner. I remember it saying not to do that. For some reason, to me, it fits here as does the above.

I don't mind being talked to about faith, or religion. I don't mind discussing differences either.

What I have issue with are the organizations that come to collect money from your door when your not apart of that particular church. I mind people trespassing on my property to tell me my faith is wrong and this brings me to the before mentioned. What we do for God is between us and God. Its not supposed to be paraded round town. Hey look at me. Those kind of Christians to me are in need of being saved. They break the codes of the bible, they break the law. Both of which are no nos.

A pyramid. Maybe, but I have not studied the financial books of any given religion. I know I donate at the parish, it goes higher up, and is divided to pay the priests, the bills, and a fair amount to charity. The rest goes higher still. Some religions can look it but only the books can tell for sure.

Our book doesn't tell us that there are rewards for saving others. It just tells us that we should reach out to those who do not believe and tell them what God has done for us. We receive nothing except a little joy whenever someone responds to our message.

We witness to all our friends and acquaintances because we do not want to see them suffer in torment from a lack of knowledge.

If they are Christians, then they are already saved. So what do you think? We witness out of love for our neighbors. Why do you down Christians, and look for alternate motives? We are told, as Christians that we are a part of the Great Commission, to witness unto others that which the Lord has done for us. It is up to them to decide. But I see that your father would like to deny even the telling to others the good news of Christ. What a joy it must be to be you.

Sandy,
No, we are NOT rewarded for saving others. We are told to do so. CHRIST told the disciples/Apostles in Matthew 28:18-21 and we are to follow those also. True CHRISTIANS want to follow what our SAVIOR did and what HIS APOSTLES told the first century CHRISTIANS to do. We read, study, and obey GOD'S WORD and use the examples contained in the scriptures as our guide to everyday living as we should. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks,
Eds

Christians don't witness as a self glorifying act. It is a service and commitment to Jesus and God. It is not a reward seeking deed. They are interested in saving your soul. It is a role of a Christian to pillage hell in order to populate heaven.

You are thinking of Jehovah''s Witness people. They feel that salvation is to be earned. A Christian should and hopefully IS, concerned for your well being.

It may be their way to try to convience themselves of the truth rather than the unbelievable nature of what they are try to convience you of.

It isn't a pyramid scheme, but it does appear to be a scam or a con job. As with such, it has evolved during the years to become quite the money maker ( as well as a place for those interested in little boys and girls...)

They say saving you.

Look at the evangelical society and how they trick people in to giveing them money, they rake in millions of dollors and they use their phoney image in corrupting people.

How you ever seen a American, English or European Bible thumper that is poor?

So really they are saving themselves.

A great observation. A pyramid scheme. If you try to save someone else, maybe you will save yourself.

Because you do it for a selfish reason, knowingly or unknowingly, God will bless you. Great logic, isn't it?
