Two words - Phishing Scam ;););)

Let me guess - they asked you to send them your address, phone number, and a copy of your passport (or driver's license)

JUST for confirmation purposes...

Its a SCAM..
Think about it.. If you won a Lottery... Anywhere in the WORLD..... Don't you think they would fly you out there so, they can have you on TV and whatever else...
Think about it.. Here in the US.. If anyone wins anything even near a million.. Its all over the newspapers and TV...

There probley going to try and steal your identity or after you fill out Payment Processing.. There going to say please send us (about) $5,000 for the taxes and processing fees...

So, I wouldn't do anything but, just ignore them.. Or write back and say.. Send me the money and I'll send you the info back once I received it..
They will never answer you back.. and I would try and call you Internet provider and tell them about it...

Good luck with everything and let us know what happens...
Jay

Yes, it is true. Now let us celebrate. Invite all your friends and atleast spend your whole one week's wages. All these above answerers are jealous of you that is why they say, dont believe, it is spam, etc. Now start showering money from your savings, buy a gold/platinum diamond ring for your fiancee, start giving expensive presents to your loved ones, dont be mean now, you are getting yor cheque very soon. Dont worry what is left in your savings account, just enjoy your life, resign your job, book a brand new car, give a deposit if you can, book your holidays, you may pay them the full amount, dont delay, you may find bargain holidays if you pay full in advance. Keep it in mind, luck does not strike twice. This is the time. Search your horroscope on internet, I am sure you will find the same I am telling you now. Yes, go ahead, dont waste time. The weekend already started, start calling your friends and tell them this news, and invite them straightaway to the city most expensive club. Tell me next week how valueable my advice was.

I received such mail as well, but from Senegal. Just for fun I responded with a fake information (I wanted to see what they'd say.)
Another email from them was about a "fee" to send a check to me.
Here it is:
Dear Mr. -----------
Compliments, the cost of posting your chaque to Chicago USA is $278 only, i will advice you to send the money through Western Union Money Transfer through the name of my secretary to enable her go and pick the money and post your chaque to you, Send to her the payment information here. below is her name and address,

Name.Nathan Lucia
Address 1880 Grand Medina
Dakar Senegal.

Regards,
Barrister Belfino Malick.
--------------------------------------------------
I guess some people fall for this and send $278 and since they send millions and millions emails like this, they make a lot of money on this scam.
