Since it is an apartment, it could be coming from a neighboring apartment, through the vents. Try placing screen on the vents, if you haven't yet. Either that, or move.

All these responses are good. I'd put an emphasis on roach bait and closing up places where they can get in...using caulk where you can ... I like the idea of screen mesh on the vents. And certainly you want to keep everything very clean...I imagine you do...you may want to look for Teatree Oil products to clean with
and as has been recommended...be sure the management is well informed of your situation and your efforts to combat it on your own.
You should probably start looking for another place to move to at the end of your lease...just in case none of this works...you can only do so much in an apartment building...if management or other tenants are the problem...you won't be able to solve your problem completely.

LOL...you must be living in McDonough (Walden Run Apartments). Sorry, I had a big time German roach problem there. I told the property manager and they had someone come in to spray...it didn't work. Those darn things are hard to kill and will keep coming in from any little openings. I ended up breaking my lease with them and they took me to court. I won. I had to take many, many pictures of dead roaches (I'm talking hundreds of them - weekly) and I made copies of all emails I sent to the manager. I had estimates from pest control companies and they each said the same thing...which has been stated...tent the whole building and fumigate. Sorry for your headaches...I've been through the same thing and it truly sucks :(

I stayed with a friend in Atlanta for a couple of weeks that the roaches were totally creaping me out.
We fumigated a couple of times and had to clean the roaches off the kitchen floor WITH A SHOVEL.

Spray them yourself(less expensive, so you can do it more often) go to home depot or a hardware store, buy a 1 gallon sprayer--look for a bug killer for crawling insects-preferrably one that is safe, doesnt stain, and safe for humans and pets. I use one made by Ortho called 'Home Defense' spray by doors, windows, around sinks and bathtubs.Eliminate food sources--clean up crumbs, close cereal boxes and sugar and flour containers, etc. Dont spray around food and wash off any that gets on you during spraying.

if your neighbors have roaches, they will find a way into your apartment. your landlord needs to have the entire building treated. it is his responsibility to take care of it, but it's your responsibility to notify him of the problem. you can notify housing authority(or whatever the agency in your area is) if he doesn't. there are standards for the condition landlords must keep their rental properties in. the spray won't keep them out of your apartment, but it should kill them once they get in.

this is not prevent, but can help when they are around.
You can make your own non-toxic spray with water & soap, and anything else you wan't to add. But of course, the bigger they are the harder they fall. But i have had success with soapywater and windex, and I don't have to use much caution when spraying.
