You can keep uncooked potatoes in the fridge put them in some cold water with a piece of bread on the top and cover in cling film this will stop them going black, it works been doing it for years, saves all that peeling on Sunday morn when you have better things to do

It depends. If you're asking whether it's alright to store raw, unpeeled potatoes in the refridgerator then the answer is a definite maybe. Some potatoes do better in the fridge than others. Waxy potatoes, like Red Bliss, Yukon Golds, White Rose store well in the fridge. They tend turn get green when left out at room temp pretty quickly. Low starch potatoes like Idaho Baking potatoes will be negatively affected by the cold changing their texture. You can still do it, but at a cost to quality. When my baking potatoes sprout I just peel them and make french fries. Old potatoes are good for fries.

You certainly can put uncooked potatoes in the fridge but most of the time it is not necessary. Potato preseves very well in cold dark and dry rooms but it is necessary to preserve potatoes in fridges in very hot countries.

That is where I keep mine - they last a lot longer.

Only thing is if they get wet - something spills in the fridge or something like that, take them out & dry them & I let them sit out for a couple of hours to make sure the skin drys real good otherwise they will rot fast.

Once it is peeled it should be put in salted water before putting in a sealed box in the fridge, otherwise it is unnecessary to put them in the fridge.

You should not put raw potatoes in the frig because it changes the starch in them into sugar. That can cause them to darken when they cook. Store them in a cool dark place. Also avoid potatoes that have turned green as there is something in them that can be toxic.

Yes you can, I usually prepare enough for 2 days, put them in a bowl of water. Any more than that and they will start to go slimy

Yes. But they can get mushy after a few weeks. Best to put them in a dark place like a pantry.
