Maybe you do it because you care more that others think you are neat and organized. You don't want people to think you are a slob. At home, you may not have a lot of guests over (or hiding places for your clutter) so you may not care as much . I'm going through the same thing here too but I've decided I am going to get some garbage bags and throw out as much stuff as I can bare to part with because less stuff = easier to clean. Then I can just organize what's left. Hope that helps.

A) There is a probable chance if you are unorganized and a slob at work, you could lose your job due to a lack of organization, or a lack of professionalism. And paychecks are vital to having a home.

B) You are too tired to clean when you get home.

C) You like your home to be relaxed and a little cluttered because of the first two reasons. I find some homes that are totally spotless to be uncomfortable, because I'm afraid to wear shoes inside, or smudge the furniture, or heaven forbid.. get crumbs anywhere.

I had to be at work, since food safety and neatness is important. But by the time I got home I just wanted to relax and not have to clean a second place. I just did the best I could on my days off. flylady.net has helped me a lot to stay on track at home.

My husband and I both are the same way. I think it's because when we're at work we want to maintain a professional image but when we're at home we can relax and let things go.

Hum...I tend to be the same way. Maybe it's because we spend to much energy at work to be top performers, that we have no energy left for home.

You put all your energies at work and have none left for home.
