I had a dream last night where I squashed a spider in between two nickels. Any idea what it means? That's the only part of the dream I remember. I don't have a phobia of spiders or anything like that.

I'm curious what others might think it could mean.

I wasn't afraid in my dream. It wasn't a nightmare at all. I saw a spider, picked up a couple of nickels, and squashed it in between them. Nothing scary about it.

Spiders mean enemies or evil intentions. You "squashed" and enemy's evil intentions and you used money to do it. Either that or someone made you feel cheap and you crushed this idea of you.

According to Dreamcrowd:

Some believe that the spider is symbolic of an unkind and sneaky individual. Are you the spider building a web, or are you being dragged into one? A spider's web might represent entanglement and the general complexities of life. Depending on the details of the dream, it could also symbolize a smothering individual. Ironically, very old dream interpretations say that the spider is an omen of good luck! Alternatively, Carl Jung felt that the spider's web was a symbol of wholeness due to its formation (circular shape), construction and complexity. He called circular symbols "mandalas" and said that they hold valuable meaning for the dreamer. The spider and his web may be calling for an integration of the dream's personality leading to greater self-awareness and resulting in feelings of completeness. Therefore, the spider and his web may be considered profound and spiritual dream symbols that call for greater self-understanding and encourage us to derive meaning and satisfaction from the intricate framework and interplay of life.

The purpose of a nightmare is to de-activate unexpressed fears. In this case the spider represents your fear and you are trying to destroy it. So far you haven't managed to take away the fear so your brain is running through the unfulfilled situation of squashing the spider.

spider = fear, things you don't like
nickels = things you don't see important but have some value, desire, support

That could probably mean that there are things in life you feel annoyed and you want to get rid of. However, you may need to exchange something valuable to do so. Projecting nickels could mean you do not care how much you do to get rid of this fear.

Basically, you want to confront your fear, but you need some sort of support or things to help you do that and you reflect your personalities in dream

I agree with midnightangel 75. Spiders are symbolic of deception and lies. Your dream seems to reflect that their was some kind of deception working again you and were able to overcome the deception working with very little money. The number 5 represents grace from God. 2 represents confirmation.
