I frequently have extrasystoles. What are the reasons and triggering factors? What ıs the possibility that it may be due to emotional factors?

You do not give your age which would help with the most likely diagnosis.

If you are young and the extrasystoles disappear on exercise, they are very likely to be benign. Try reducing your caffeine and alcohol intake. Also stop smoking.

If you are in your 40s or older and they do not disappear on exercise then it is more likely to be caused by ischaemic heart disease.

If these extrasystoles are very frequent, or you feel like your heart is racing, or you feel unwell with it get it checked out.

My Dad always told me only to worry when it stops beating! My wife and I both had this (missing beats) after each other for two week periods. We came to the conclusion that it was viral, but we have never had it since and the Doctors probably would be advising bypass operations by now if we had consulted them!! Don't worry.

There are a variety a reasons for you have "Ectopic" heart beats and I'd think it would be wise for you to have the condition evaluated by a doctor.
