In HTML character entity reference the codes are Ñ and ñ or Ñ and ñ.
On the Apple Macintosh operating system it can be typed by pressing the [Option] key then typing n followed by either N or n.
To make a lowercase ñ on the Microsoft Windows operating system, hold down the ALT key and press the numbers 0241 or 164 on the numeric keypad with Num Lock ON. To make an uppercase Ñ, press ALT + 165 or 0209.
Another option is to configure the system to use the US-International keyboard layout, where the ñ can be produced either by Alt Gr + N, or by typing the tilde (~) followed by the letter n.

I use a UK keyboard and I guess US keyboards are the same ... it's easy.
First locate the tilde symbol on your keyboard. Mine's on the hash (#) key.
You press "Ctrl", then keeping that held down, you press the shift key (between control and caps lock); then, keeping both of those keys held down, you press the hash key (or whatever other key has the tilde ~ on it). Then you take your fingers off the keyboard and press "n". Hey presto! It takes a little practice.
Unfortunately it doesn't work for typing directly into email or Answers ... I type in Word then copy and paste into Answers if I want to use diacritic marks.

To type a capital Ñ, hold down alt and type 0209.
