Are you asking about the meaning or difference between belief and faith? Your question is difficult to understand, but I will approach that idea.

Belief, as I understand, is like an agreement. That is, God says this, and I agree. Abraham was said to have "believed God" several times in Genesis. That is, he agreed with what God said. But, that is only the mental part of it.

Anyone can believe in someone or something. It says in James, "You believe in God. Good! Even the demons believe and tremble in fear." In simple terms, I believe that my car runs. I know this, because my car has proven it's mechanical condition. But, this is only what I know and believe - in my head.

Now, what is faith? Faith is taking belief and putting it into action. In the car idea, I believe that my car runs. But, when I get in, turn the key, put it in gear and go, I am acting on my belief which takes faith. So it is with God.

James also says that faith without works is dead. Faith takes works to be faith. Otherwise, it is belief alone. have you seen Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade? If you did, you may remember the part where he was in the cave and had to cross a huge chasm. He recalled the clues he had about "stepping out in faith" and stepped - lo and behold, a hidden bridge was there. He knew that they had to have some way of getting across (belief), but had to act upon the belief (faith) in order to actually get across.

When God reveals something to us, we can believe that He said it, believe that He will protect us, guide us and supply all our needs. But, that can all happen from a rocking chair. In order to have faith, we must get up, go and do what He says.

In brief, belief starts in the head and faith starts with the feet.

belief is what you have when you think something is true, but you don't know it. It is a very early stage of spiritual development.

for example "i believe in god"

Faith is when you know it is true, and you put your trust in it. For example "I have faith that god will look after me, so i can spend my time looking after other people - i know this because god has looked after me so well in the past. Obviously he will continue to do so."

faith is a very advanced stage of the spiritual path.

Jesus had faith - he did not believe in god he trusted god.
Most modern day christians have belief. They focus so much effort on believing in god that they have nothing left for trusting him.
