I think people should be able to offer advice on a question without delving into what one may have done to cause this problem. I know many of my own problems were from mistakes I had made and I realize that but if I need advice, help, etc. I don't want to hear about how it was my own fault. I just may need help on that particular thing.
Sometimes one might "explain" in his / her question why certain things have not worked. This is in no way MAKING EXCUSES.
The way I see it is if I cannot offer any advice; either from lack of knowledge on the subject or inability to understand the problem, then I pass the question and do not answer it. And I would never answer a question just to be mean as some people do.

No, I can't say that's ever happened to me. We all assume a certain level of risk by posting questions here. But that's no excuse for the rude or hateful answers I sometimes see here. As I believe someone else just said, if I can't say something nice or give an intelligent response, I simply pass on the question. For a measly 2 points, it's not worth it to me.

Not sure what you mean. I think that when we ask questions in a public forum like YA, we're not in the position to dictate what people should tell us and how they react (other than within the community guidelines). You don't have to take heed of advice - that's the beauty of it.

If you don't want answers you don't like, then stop posting questions. No one owes you anything either.

My dear, by posing your questions here on the Internet, you are giving them permission to enter your personal life.
If you do not wish to have people do this, I suggest you stop asking questions in this forum.
