People are hungry for fame and the like, and our govenment or rulers are busy making us hate each other for their own gains, and scarring us witless.
Also our love for each other is non existant cos we are all diferent, be it colour or religion or language and we ignore the signs of God in this world.

" Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew he had fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them " ( Jonah 1:10 ). God has not left us. We would all be devoured by the darkness / evil if He weren't here. Men and women are fleeing from the presence of the Lord, and having tea with the devil who loathes them, by being disobedient to God who loves them the most. It is so very sad to see and feel the absence of God in our society due to the masses love of sin. But to a true Christian, our own bodies are the temple of the Lord. He abides with us always!

Yes I do, I Doubt:
In fact God's Spirit is calling His people while the majority don't want to get on the ARK. Had Noah's children passed away, there would have been none saved.
Likewise, we are facing Armageddon, and angels are doing their best to save anyone, as indicated in Revelations 7:1:
"And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
7:2 "And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
7:3 "Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."
Notice that the seal of God in in their foreheads. That is in the psyche, and it is only by God's presence through the Holy Spirit that one is saved. "lip service" just doesn't count, but faith inspired by God's presence is where the rubber meets the road.
There is more in a Bible code that identifies the last-day culprit. You may contact me for the information by e-mail.
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

God has existed throughout the millenia at the fringes of our understanding of the universe. When we saw lightning and felt earthquakes, we didn't understand where they came from- so we felt it must be god.
As our understanding of the world around us increased, there became fewer and fewer things that can be attributed to God. Even the last few Catholic Pope's no longer take issue with evolution (just too much evidence).
There are still a few things that we don't currently know (like, what came before the Big Bang), so, I guess God still has a place. However, his place is getting smaller and smaller as our knowledge and understanding of the universe increases.
Funny- but I don't feel that this is a 'tragic' loss. It's more of a 'gain'.

In the book of Daniel 12: 4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
WOW! Knowledge is everywhere! And as man substitute knowledge of God for knowledge of witchcraft, and science to think they have gained much more than God can offer. man has become consumed by knowledge and refuses God more easily as a tool to get away from God, and to have understanding that is false. And to blame for this is man's desire to be greater than God and to say I don't need God! And to say he doesn't exist in my world! This is Satan's doing mixed with man's free will to pick and choose! And the other factor is.... Christians don't share their faith, and they sit back on their collective buts, and don't even bother to read the Bible or to pray or to do anything to further the kingdom of God!

The most tragic for me is when you don't know the essence of God's presence or absence.
