Salam Aleykum!
Is there "Islam light" and is it like the same as madonna (the singer) says she is a jewish? I mean, practicing something which is only a part or branch of something?

Of course....
I'll hang a Mercedes badge on a bicycle and then it'll turn into a car... I just have to wave around it with my magic wand.
Islam is easy for those whom Allah s.w.t. guides and difficult for those whom he leaves in the darkness. If one finds Islam uneasy he should question his iman (not whether it is weak or strong, but whether it exists or not).
I see many people are trying to find ruhsa (something that overruns a rule in Islam in exceptional cases), where they don't exist. Let's say if someone doesn't have the guts to tell his boss he needs to pray and then issues himself a "fatwa" that he can just pray 5 in 1 when he comes back home...
That's an extreme case but I've met lots of them!
All of the ruhsa were clearly stated by Allah s.w.t. and His messenger s.a.w.s.
The worst thing is when people say "iman is in the heart" - yes, it is, but that doesn't mean a Muslim can just take things according to his desires. Or they take some monkey face from the telly who calls himself an "Islamic scholar" and when people ask him something like "is it permissible to...?" he says "yes, of course, because [then he manipulates and twists some ayah or hadeeth in a non-related context]"; or when people ask "do I have to...?" he goes "no, you don't, Islam is easy bla bla bla...". in Arabic we popularly call that "fataawa 3alal-hawa" - or "legal decrees based on passions".
"can I date this sister, she's very nice and very pious bla bla?" "yes, nothing wrong bla bla, go have some fun just make sure you read the doa before you have intercourse"
or
"do i have to cover my aurah?" "no, just show yourself the way you were created, birthday suit would be preferrable, big sawaab, put on some perfume, sister, and some make up bla bla..."
or
"is it haram to go to disco?" "no, the whole planet belongs to Allah, it's ok as long as you have a good niyyah, try to find some Christian girl with a big cross hanging between her breasts, take her home and make her a Muslim after a sleepless night when you show her how superior we Muslims are in bed bla bla"
*makes me sick*
I say practise Islam properly and prepare for the day when there will be no shade except Allah's shade. Learn the conditions of "La ilaha illallah" and don't think that who says "La ilaha illallah" but his actions deny that, is a Muslim.
Practising a part of Islam and leaving another is no Islam.
---
LOL...sufism?
Hmmmm...like Ibn Arabi who claims that Ka'bah made tawaaf around him...and made doa "Allah, take me from the mud of tawheed and place me into the sea of wahdat al-wujood" [pure shirk!!!]
Another "noble" sentence from Ibn Arabi: "idols worshipped besides allah are nothing else but Allah" (see Fusoos Ul-Hikam)
I agree on the thing that there is no such law in saudi Arabia, but that's the law in Islam. Saudi Arabia has not implemented shari'ah fully.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah
Islam light? That's actually rather humorous. I think we have quite enough religions that allow someone to feel good without actually doing anything.
Islam is a moderate religion. It does not requre its followers to spend hours a day in prayer, to abstain from the good things of this world, to live ascetic lives apart from worldly things. For the treasure of our lives, and the potential of a wonderful afterlife, Allah asks so little of us. Spend a few minutes a day praying and remembering our Creator. Abstain from alcohol and pork. Don't have sex oustide of marriage. Don't cheat, don't lie, don't gamble. Give charity. Islam is the way of moderation and if a person cannot bring himself to do these few things then he is totally devoid of gratitude.
Islam is not a cafeteria religion, where one can pick and choose one's belief. It is a simple belief whose essence is Tauheed, belief in the Oneness of God. The pillars of belief and practice are few and easily understandable. Anyone wanting anything lighter than this wants a gossamer religion of fluff and no substance.

Yes there is "Islam Light"!
You should know this!
The Noor (Nur) - The Resplendence of God, the Light of Gods Plenitude; Muhammad (PBUH); the Light of God which arose from within Him in the period called the Athi (The Beginning; the time of the dawning of Light, when God realizes Himself. The time of the Noor. The Power of God in the period prior to creation; the world of Grace.)
Oh, such Light!! There is such Light!!
Those people that backbite, find fault, argue, and cause separation are still being breastfed by shaitan!

No there isn't. You should realize though that even though islam is a way of life NONE of us follow it completely. We just need to keep striving to do this. I like what Samantha had to say about this.
And sister, I am sorry to tell you this way but sister Fez is right. I have read both your question and answers and you DID not read what she wrote properly. Your comments to her and to others ARE rude. It's not even that you have differing opinions it seems you don't even read what people write and then judge them out of no where and it shows in what you say. The prophet Muhammad always spoke to people with respect, he never belittled them NO MATTER WHAT. We all need to take this in account.

Walaykum as salaam!
There shouldn't be but it is rare to find a Muslim that practices at the top level 100% of the time(evidenced by your rudeness), it's called being human - you should know and apparently there is "Islam Rude" - you should know about that too.
I'm NOT walking away--I blocked you so you don't troll around and comment on every question I write. I'm here right now (at the moment and if I go offline I come back--so say what you will. The EVIDENCE is available online too--YOU ARE RUDE. You also walk away constantly after saying something that isn't even true--and you never go back to check. I see you've unleashed your dogs on me but aren't dogs haram?
Oh I saw your email too---" Noor

Try Sufi Islam.
But islam is supposed to be a way of life. How can you believe in some part of islam then reject others? Isn't it what true faith is to believe in the whole of it?

Islam have its roots in Quran, which is light. All the world including christianity was living in dark ages. Islam came and enlightened all the world. Now same dark ages europe is claiming and crying for its enlightenment which is still a part of true islam.

I live in Andalucia Spain. Andalucia gets its name from the Arabic. They called this place El Andalus, meaning place of Light! The rest is bolloni! I know hundreds of praying Muslims here in Spain, and they are all Liers and cheats! I have to do business with them but I learn t never to give them credit or lend them anything!
What good ones there are don't have the courage to stand up to the rest and women will be murdered if they speak out!

the equivalent to the qabalah that madonna follows. would be western sufism - as taught by inayat khan. You can find some information at:
