i should be happy because i have a good family (even if they annoy me a lot at times), my parents look after me, i still live at home, they bought me a car, i earn my own money, i have a fab boyfriend and good mates...but i still feel depressed at times...
recently ive been close to tears all the time, i try not to show people...
my friends are always busy and i never get to see them these days because they are all working, i only work one day a week and im stuck at home with my brother...so i feel really lonely...the only time i feel better is when im with my boyfriend or with my friends but as soon as im back on my own, i feel really sad, lonely and depressed...
can anyone help?

You could have everything in the world and still be depressed. If you think that you are go and see your doctor, he should be able to help you.

I don't mean to point out the obvious, but maybe a job with more hours could help? If you are only going out to work one day a week, then maybe you are just really bored!

Just cause you have a lot that youre happy with doesnt mean its wrong to be depressed. There are many reasons why people are depressed. Look at the rich and famous. They seem to have everything yet a lot of them are depressed. Its nothing to do with what you have. Its all to do with how you feel about things. Maybe getting more work would be a good idea. The first part of your question looks positive but the end shows there is some things that are bothering you so your depressed feelings arent unjustified. I think going to a counsellor if you can afford it would help a great deal. To try and get to the root of why youre feeling down. If you cant afford that try talking to friends or your boyfriend about whats bothering you. Getting stuff out of your system is very good for you and might make you feel better about things if you can talk to someone who's willing to listen. I'll leave you with one last thing. Just cause everything seems alright and you feel you should be happy with things as they are doesnt mean its wrong to have depressed feelings. I suffered from depression for years. I thought everything was fine and i thought the problem was with me. There are loads of things that can cause you to feel depressed. Express your feelings and talk to people. Best of luck :-)

Depression is often causing by a chemical imbalance in the brain. It doesn't really matter how "great" your life is. It would be a good idea to see a doctor about this. This is something that is treatable, but only if you seek help for it. Those people that are telling you that you are "just bored" obviously have never dealt with this before. Someone who hasn't gone through depression just can't understand what it feels like. Get yourself to a professional that understands.

Maybe not clinically depressed. You need purpose in your life, get a job or go back to education (or maybe its the summer hols for you). If you are still in education you should start preparing for the new year so read around your subjects, time is precious. Even if you can't find a paying job do some charity work or just resolve to get fit.

So in short I think you are very bored and you can fix it.

Hi hun! you sound like you do have a lot of people around you that are good! You might need to speak to your family physician about your depression. They should be able to help you! But yeah it sounds like you might need to work more. Work can be a very social activity, that helps you pass the days away and make you feel more fulfilled. Plan get togethers with your friends and boyfriend! While your home with your brother, try to do things that you like. To cheer yourself up do something nice for someone else, it really works! To help with your loneliness try to do things with your brother that are fun like play games or listen to music and dance. Be creative let him help you rearrange the furnisher or go outside for a nature walk. Crafts are fun maybe you could find something his age and help him do it or get yourself a craft to do too. Try to think positive, it helps you feel better about yourself. Write a list of things you want to do before winter gets here. Do one thing a day, this will help you with your depression. Crying is good for you, it relieves stress and tension. Above all do things that make you happy. Like I read books, write poetry and write my family and friends, when I'm by myself. Good luck, see your physician for help with your depression. hugs!

It sounds like depression. A counseler or doctor should be able to help. If you continue without help you find that you have less friend and eventually no boyfriend. It's very hard to live around a depressed person. You know you have the problem.... get the help that is available.

It could be a mild form of depression, but I'm more apt to think that maybe you are bored. Find more work to do or a hobby that you can get into to take up the slack when you can't be with your friends or BF. Maybe, you can try to get to know your brother better and try making a real connection with him.

It sounds like you might be.
I suffer from depression and when I feel down I do some excersise or go out for a walk.It should make you feel a bit better because excersise releases chemicals in your brain called endorphines and they make you feel better.
