Unlike what the Clean Airyan Brotherhood member posted above, its always best to keep a healthy attitude of skepticism any time someone says "the vast majority of scientists or anyone else says this or that". A hundred years ago the "vast majority" of scientists said that the entire universe was filled with a massless undetectable substance the called "ether" which that don't talk about any more'

That is how uncertain Scientists are about the science itself. It is a very big very complex problem.. but Technology has come a long way in that 30 years to better predict the science. We have many more things such a satellites to track things.. and more years of history of tracking it!
Currently the belief is that Global Warming is melting the Ice pack... which is releasing fresh water into the salty Ocean which may affect the density of the ocean.
ONE CURRENT FEAR IS THIS DENSITY CHANGE CAN LIMIT/REDUCE THE OCEAN CURRENTS in the Atlantic. The ocean currents bring warm water from the south to moderate the temperature of Europe and the North Atlantic. The energy removed by moving it northward also moderates the hurricanes in the Atlantic.. So.. no ocean currents.. results in cold in the North (Northern parts of US and Canada and Europe) and hotter at the equator and the Caribbean, south US (Florida), etc.. More and stronger hurricanes and Cold in the North.. drought in the south, too short a growing season if any in the north.. (supposedly this happened in the “little ice age” in 700 - 1300 AD which stalled european civilization and killed many with starvation)
Is that the best of all worlds or more fear mongering?
I believe that humans have done SOMETHING that is affecting Global Climate, that something is accelerating natural cycles. How do we stop it? Can we stop it? That is worth questioning, studying and actually worth trying. Can we know anything for 100% certainty .. of course not .. but if we do not do something now it to reduce our impact on the environmental may be too late when we find out with better certainty later.

No--that is a false claim. Wherever you read it it was BS.
As for the rest of your comments: Both the points you mention were NEVER "predictions--the first was simply a speculative discussion. The second--a possible link between hurricanes and global warming--is a HYPOTHESIS being investigated by scientists. But they HAVE NOT said this is definite. A hypotesis is not a scientific principle or law--its a possibility that is yet to be proven one way or the other.
At leas t find out what scientists are really saying--and what basic terms like hypothesis mean before you make a fool of yourself.

The idea that global cooling was a major scientific concern in the 1970s is a global denier myth, spread by some right wing journalists. "Global cooling" was just a few guys with theories and no data, much like the "skeptics" of today. Details in this article:
http://www.realclimate.org/index.php?p=94
They had no backing from any major scientific organization, all of whom now accept the data that says global warming is real and mostly man made.
Recently some data said certain parts of the ocean had cooled by a tiny fraction of a degree. Careful work now says that data is highly questionable.

No, that's the biggest load of horse crap yet. Scientists did not predict that in 1978. One guy wrote a book in 1976 that speculated that it could happen, and the weather scientists all said he was wrong.
Yes there's been a (tiny) drop in the ocean temperatures. The polar icecaps are melting and large chunks of ice are breaking off and floating around. Pieces the size of the New England states do this every month. Putting ice into water sometimes has that effect. In other words, it's you can look it up.
Once the polar caps are gone (within the next 40 years) the oceans will heat up rapidly.

Fair enough. Please include just one link to a scientific report that said we were about to head into another ice age, if you're unable to find such a report (there aren't any) then please include a link to a credible report saying the oceans are cooling instead - should be easy enough, just one link that's all.
Also, please provide a single link to a scientific report that says we will experience monster hurricanes year after year. There are reports which state the likely trend is an increase in frequency and severity but that's very different to what you're claiming.

worldwide warming bargains with traits. Climatologists take a 30 12 months term at a minimum, if in a position to, to tutor a vogue. Shorter time sessions reveal too lots variability and too lots noise., mutually with those of l. a. Nina and El Nino episodes. in case you seem at your graph you will see many united statesand downs. assorted years tutor significant cooling, although the form continues to be useful and could stay useful as long as extra potential is being retained interior the decrease atmosphere., as has been measured by potential of satellites and floor based observatories. this question grew to become into alright until eventually your first respond claiming that "they are in a position to't even get the ten day forecast real".possibly you need to seem up the adjustments between climate, which bargains with long term traits, and climate, which bargains with unmarried element occurrences.

Do not forget the past 2 years. There were too many hurricanes crossing the US shores. Few crossing the Chinese and south-east asian countries.
But let me tell you one more thing, whether Ocean cools or hots up, it is going to be problem for the marine life. They would not hatch in proper time, too many known and established scientific theories about marine breeding would alter and go without any notice. Our marine biologists would be reading an out-dated lessons in their curriculum. Life and economy of poor asian fishermen would be affected very much.
Marine life would start migrating to a more favorable spots or end up commiting suicide. Haven't you heard about fishes commiting suicide for different reasons?

I think it's fairly obvious that if it's getting hotter, glaciers and the ice caps will melt, thus cooling the ocean. I'm no scientist, but I have a little common sense. Global warming has nothing to do with religion or politics.

Get your facts straight. Global cooling was a popular rumor which was NOT scientifically backed. I will not respond to the rest of your questions as the first part is inaccurate.
