Christian conceit derives from their inability to distinguish delusion from reality. The more severe the delusion, the greater the certainty and hence the greater the conceit.

Well for starters, i hope you aren't ignorant to the other side of the coin. Atheist who answer Christian questions with their own brand of zealous. But for your questions.... the arrogance probly is a product of Christians strong KNOW (not belief) that there is a God. To us, when an atheist says there's no god is like someone telling you there's no sun or that the sky isn't blue. Also, we get hell (no pun intended) from atheists on this forum on regular basis causing angst towards their Q's.. which i'm sure has a recycling effect..
Not condoning this behavior, just answering the Q..

I read the answers and I didn't find any that were very conceited. That is my perception and yours may be different.
Everyone has different "perceptions" of "appropriate" and this is a huge problem in communication between people
In reality how you are treated in the area you live in has to do with how you behave and the way the people in the area you live perceive your behavior.
I would think that you should be more concerned about other aspects of your life style affecting how people perceive you as opposed to your views on atheism.
If you are very charismatic you need behave less rigidly to be perceived as acceptable. If you are not charismatic you need behave more rigidly.
This is true everywhere including work. How many of us have seen the "Boss" favor someone who is less competent for one reason or another? The same thing happens everywhere. people will favor you or not and how they favor you affects their perceptions of you and your behavior.
In High school we used to hear, "the cool kids get away with everything". It is still true today, although we know that "cool" is really "charismatic".

I read your other question and responses and see no conceit in their responses. I actually seen quite a few good answers of where you could move. I am a Christian and try not to judge others for the lifestyle they choose, but I don't always succeed. It seems by your question you have a problem with Christians and just want to lash out for some reason. I hope that you work through this problem. Good luck. God Bless.

Some Christians may come across that way, because they are imperfect. But not all are like that.
Christians are supposed to have love for everyone, no matter what their beliefs. That doesn't mean they have to approve of what those beliefs are, just that they have to show love regardless. Part of that love is sharing what they know about God, which should be done with kindness and fellow human feeling, not being judgmental.

Atheist/agnostic lifestyle acknowledges that capable human beings are ultimately responsible for their own actions and this simply does not compute for fundamentalists of any religion. The ingenuity, logic and wisdom of atheists was developed over eons and refutes any need to bow to the overreaching and nonsensical rationale of doctrine. It should be one’s own decision to be a good person and not a decision formed due to the promise of fanciful reward or the threat of eternal damnation. Atheism threatens the lifestyle of religious persons, their smug prejudices, and their potential to shape society in the name of their god as they see fit.

Next time, mention how it's sinful to be smug and conceited.
I'm not trying to win converts, lol. Just trying to be honest. I hope I don't come off as conceited; foolish, at times, though, I'll admit.
By the way, steer clear of my neighborhood. Fundies lurk behind every stop sign.
Peace.

why are you so much like what you just described Christians. no offense to you. but why would you even ask this question. you know more "Christians"(as you put it) are going to answer it! you are describing a very large popularity. and being labeled conceited is not for a group, you can only label ONE PERSON conceited, because NOT everyone is like this. you calling EVERY Christian conceited, and telling them that they have attitudes, is wrong. so you respect our religion, and we probably will respect your believes.

Conceit is a quality of holier-than-thous. It is not a sin, just like hypocrisy.
