I am just wondering if taking high calorie fruits such as mangoes, chiku (sapota - I think the biological name also sounds like that), grapes can also result in fat if the calories are not burnt - Is it similar to taking oily foods/snacks that may also be of high calorific content , can get converted to fats if the calories are not burnt - Is there any difference between the two (or) is it ok if high calorific fruits are consumed but they may not get converted to fats

All you eat no matter what it is - is being converted into energy when inside your body and if you dont use that energy only then its being stored in fat reserves.
Its all about calories in vs calories out.
You could be eating all fruit you want and gain weight if you dont burn those calories.

p.s. thats why there are no "fatty" foods or "fat burning foods"

Fruits are much better!! Those oily foods/snacks have, what are called, empty calories. They have little to no nutritional value in the calories that you're taking in. So, even though the fruits are high in calories, you're also getting lots of vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients that your body needs. Way to go on the fruits pal!!!

A surplus of calories from any source will lead to weight gain. There are differences though; first, fruit is nutrient dense meaning you’ll reap many health benefits from it while oils and fats can have detrimental affects on your health if consumed in excess. Next, fruit is more satiating than junk food so it will fill you up quickly and keep you feeling fuller longer, thereby limiting the total calories you’re likely to consume in a given period.

In any case the rule of energy balance applies; more calories in than out = weight gain, more calories out than in = weight loss.

Sugars are better than fats as far as storage and usage is concerned. But your pancreas cannot keep up with the demands of processing all the sugar and you increase your risk of a diet induced diabetes, later on in life. Stick with veggies for snacks and fruits on occasion.

The fruit energy would be easier for the body to use as energy because it would not have to convert it first. A calorie is a calorie though and 3500 calories is equal to one kilo of fat. If you don't use those calories they will become fat if they werent already.

fruit is best eaten by itself with a minimum of two hours of eating from other food groups. other foods, especially fat will slow the digestive process down significantly. so will animal proteins.

fresh fruit is an ideal snack in between meals and before bed, but, it is best to wait a couple of hours after eating anything before you go to sleep.
