It's best to teach the very simple stuff and not to throw belief down their throats or even to speak much about a need to be saved. Elementrary school aged children have not yet developed the sorts of reasoning skills that are required to take a firm look at the bible or the logic required to discern what is real and what is imaginary. They believe in monsters, the tooth fairy and all sorts of things at that age! There is no need to stunt their intellectual and personal growth with emotional manipulation. Do not abuse your position as an adult.

Wow - hard to decide! Three passages would be easier, but three verses?

I guess if I had to choose

Exodus 34:6 This is the Lord Himself speaking of His own character. It is tremendously important

John 3:16 Obvious choice

2Timothy 3:16 A reminder of the value of the Bible and importance of studying it.

God bless

That is a rough one, but here goes.
Psalms 84:10 This verse speaks volumes.

John 1:1-5 Can't break that one down any smaller

John 3:3

There are so many it is hard to just limit it to 3 verses.

God Bless

Tough, why limit it?
I love proverbs.
"train a child in the way he should go and when hes older he wont leave it." thats a good one for you to rember.

for him.
"the fear of the lord is the begining of knowladge"
"knowladge lived becomes wisdom"
^ those are both in proverbs btw.

also
John 3:16-17
and psalms 23
and Hebrews 12:11 (no disipline is enjoyable while it is happining, it is painfull, but afterwoards there will be a quiet harvest of right living for those trained in this way.)
The 10 comandments.
also "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
and "love others as yourself"
and in john..14 I beleve. "I am the vine, you are the branches, if a man remains in me, he can do anything, apart from me, he can do nothing"

oh... Study to show yourself aproved by God. thats in 2Tim.

God has given you athority to kill snakes and scorpions and overcome allt the powers of the enemy and nothing shall harm you." Luke 10:19

the first few verses in psalms 1 too.

and john 1:1

and Gen 1:1 of course.
The armor of God is a good passage to know too.
Hope I helped. :)

Exodus 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill". Something that a lot of so called religious people appear to forget.

Ecclesiastes 3:19 - 21 "For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?" - A more realistic view than the typical hellfire and eternal paradise bull.

Wisdom 4:8 "Honourable age does not depend on length of days, nor is the number of years a true measure of life." - Not strictly in the canonical bible, but one of my favourite quotes, it is on the British war memorial in Basra.

Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd..."

Mark 4:30: The mustard seed parable

I can only think of those two as being the most appropriate right now...sorry I can't think of a third.

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble

Mark9:23 Jesus said to him, "If you believe, all things are possible to him who believes."

Whatever you teach to the children, do not cloud it with well meant but misguided interpretations. Teach them to ask God to reveal truth to them and to believe that God answers prayers if they truly listen. Sometimes, the answer may not be what the asker was hoping for but God knows what we need better than we know.

Not to be rude, but I don't plan on teaching my kids the bible. I'll show them doors to Christianity, Islam, Judaisim, etc, and let them choose when they're older, so not to feel pressured.

But I will quote the wisdom imparted about judgment. That's a big one.
