One mocked Jesus and said of you are the Son of God then why don't you get of this cross and save yourself and save us. The other one rebuked him and said to him "Why are you saying this to this man. This man has done nothing wrong and we are getting what we deserve. Then the repentant sinner after rebuking the other one said "Lord please remember me when you go into your kingdom" Jesus looked at him, and said "I tell you the truth, today you shall be with me in Paradise". So the repentant one is now in Heaven and the other one who mocked Jesus is in hell.

One expressed a measure of repentance. Jesus saw this as a potential for the man to become a follower. Jesus told the man "you will be with me in paradise." Since Jesus did not go to heaven that day (see Acts 1:3, 10, 11), neither did this thief. And since the thief did not qualify for heavenly life (there are qualifications that must be met), he did not go to heaven either.

The thief sleeps in death, awaiting the general resurrection. John 11:24.

As for the other one, no further mention of him is made.

The Synoptic Gospels and the Fourth Gospel supply distinctive dates for the Crucifixion, as your prognosis factors out, the Fourth Gospel provides the greater credible date (earlier the commencing up of Passover), as nicely as provides the only credible rationalization for the eliminating of the bodies from the crosses (all bodies to be buried earlier Passover began). No, the Jews did no longer execute Jesus, the Romans did, the explication of Pilate replaced right into a fraudulent addition to the Gospels. it extremely is possible that Pilate might have made a deal to no longer carry out executions in the time of the Holy Days; it extremely is via no potential possible that Pilate might have given amnesty to a guy sentenced to Crucifixion, The Emperor himself did no longer even have that authority.

One went to hell, and the other in the grave. The paradise Jesus was refering to is not heaven as many people think, The day Jesus died, he didn't got to heaven but he went to hell for 3 days, then rose and stayed on earth for another 40 days, Jesus said "TODAY, you will be with me in paradise" yet Jesus didn't go to heaven that day, so the "This day" is refering to the second coming of Jesus.

Note: The Thief asked Jesus to "Remember me when you COME into your kingdom" he didn't say "When you Go". The Second coming is when Jesus COMES.

Both died, actually.

But yeah, one was saved, while the other one, who said "If you really are the savior, then save yourself, and us too." got his eyes pecked out by a raven (or a crow, dunno)

The other one confessed, and asked for forgiveness. He said (I think) "He does not deserve this. But we do. We are criminals. He is innocent. Lord, remember me when you enter you enter your kingdom..."

my teacher regarded the latter as 'the greatest thief ever' as he was able to get a passageway into heaven. Take note that he was not instantly able to go to heaven. Maybe he had to wait.

One went to heaven and the other didn;t. The one who went to heaven said that Jesus was innocent and didnt deserve to die and also admitted that he deserved to die because of his crimes.
