I don't believe that. Good things happen when you have an influence to make them happen.
I believe you are referring to yourself.
If not, the answer is the same. If you want something good to happen to benefit others or the environment, take steps to make it happen. Sometimes I feel if I didn't start something, it would never happen.

Waiting in the passive, I don't agree with, just sitting around expecting the best with no imput at all is foolishness, unless you're royalty or have servants who wait on your every need.
However, Something worth having is worth waiting for.

Also could be "patience is a virtue." But you have to invest into your dreams to expect payback. You don't hope there's $22 in the bank in 2 years if you haven't deposited money to start with... But sometimes if you've done all you can to pursue what you're wanting, you have to wait for the outcome...

If you have put in an effort to achieve something good patience is sometimes neccessary to let the peices of a plan or project fall into place. Total passivity without any iniative whatsoever is going to get you nowhere.

It depends on the situation. If you wait and do nothing, opportunity may have knocked long ago & not waited outside your door for you.
Pray for rain and plant potatoes.

I think it was Abraham Lincoln who said "Good things do come to those who wait, but only the things left behind by those who hustle."

Passive but aggressive- do it, live it, be it.
Go after what you want, get what you want, but don't be surprised if you don't get it as quickly as downloading porn off the internet.
But just waiting around for something good to happen? That's F^cKin stupid.
