and he died on the cross for our sins and has taken Jesus into their heart and was baptized, but drinks and does drugs somtimes, or they going to hell? They ask for forgivesness all the time for this but they still do it , like they're addicted. Is this a sure fire way to go to Hell instead of Heaven? Doesn't God know their heart and he forgives them? How many times does he forgive them for the same sin?

If a person really believes that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he would not be able to sin wilfully afterwards. He will get freed of all addictions. If he is still a slave to his addictions, he will not be able to follow Jesus, because one cannot serve two masters- one good and the other bad.
Only Drinking or taking drugs may not cause somebody to go to Hell. But if they are addicted to them, they will not be able to enter Heaven.

1. Drink alittle; so what? There are those to avoid drink (alcohol); but not all are.
2. Does drugs sometimes. Are we currently talking about iliegal drugs or misuse of legal drugs?
3. Addicted? that is between them and God. God can get them out of the addiction; if they let him do things his way (not our way).
4. Knowing one's heart and forgiving them are two different things in this life presently.
5. How many times can God forgive? How many stars are there?
6. Will he forgive them? That is God's call, not mine presently.

Jesus truly relates to addicts, He felt the sickness. so He understands and can relieve it from you. Not magically, like Crow did for that momma, but slowly subtly, as you continually go to Him through prayer and Scripture reading, a change will happen, the need for drugs will grow less.

By the way you are not going to Hell. Jesus has mercy on us all. Love Him and obey Him to show that love, He will erase your sins if you repent, even if you go back on your word. If you repent knowing you will go back, then He knows your heart there also, but that is better than no repentance at all.

Jesus told Peter to forgive 7x70 times. this was a measure of mercy that we, as humans may be able to understand. The true measure of mercy Jesus has is incomprehensible. So great is His love for us, please just go to Him and ask how.

I believe that once you are saved you are always saved, this does not mean you will not pay the price for your sins. Jesus knows your heart and you can and will keep sinning we all do, but yes you have to ask for forgiveness every time you sin and then do your best not to do it any more. We will all stand before God and answer Him as to why we did what we did, I would say stop doing things you don't want to answer for.

Jesus did not forgive everyone. He only forgave those who stopped committing the sin in question. In the Bible, he uses the phrase "now go and sin no more."

People who continue to commit a sin should NEVER be forgiven for it. "Forgiving" an ongoing sin is exactly the same as encouraging them to keep doing it.

Only after their behavior has changed should people be forgiven for their sins.

Let me put it this way: a person who repents is a person who truly intends to change, otherwise it's just words. Does that mean that it's impossible to fail? No. Does God forgive our failures when we ask Him to? Yes. But he does expect us to be sincere and do what it takes. In the case you describe, going into rehab and/or Alcoholics Anonymous and following through with the program would be going into the right direction. On the other hand, telling oneself: "I'll do as I please, and then ask for forgiveness again and again" is not being sincere. God is not to be mocked.

As many times as He chooses.

The Lord has given us a promise that we will be forgiven on conditions of repentence. When we repent of our sins we confess and forsake them. by continuing to live in our sins we are not repenting.

However, the Lord also knows that we struggle. So He has made us a promise that through His atonement He can change our human nature so that we no longer desire to sin. He can help us overcome any sin in our life that prevents us from growing to become like Him.

exercise faith and anything can be overcome.

I looked for an answer and I found many, here are some:

1 - You have to be Sinless to get to heaven. This is what True Christian told me.

2 - Accept Jesus Christ, and you get a ticket to heaven. A Gay missionary told me that. He said Jesus died for our sins, and he already paid for this one.

3 - Some say, just be sorry and your sins will be forgiven. Even you sin then repent. rinse and repeat.

4 - Some say don't break the 10 commandments and you go to heaven. I don't see drugs included in the 10 commandments :)

To me, repentance is a process- If the person is trying to quit, doing all he/she can to quit, daily working on becoming a non-drugie, I don't see why God wouldn't forgive.

If this person isn't trying, isn't working at it always, maybe using his belief as a crutch... I don't know.

Either way, I'm not into really saying yea or nay whether God would forgive or not.

You can be forgiven for anything except blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

You can be forgiven indefinitely IF.....*IF* you are truly sorry and are actually sorry in your heart for what you did. You also have to be praying and talking to Jesus to rid yourself of that demon...whatever it is that afflicts you. You can't just say....'yeah, please forgive me', and ten run off and do it again.

You have to be actively be trying to stop whatever it is you're doing. If you are insincere, and you die without repentance for your actions you will be headed down the wrong road.
