Going to need to know what sound card you are using. You might need to open up the computer to look at where you plug the speakers into. If there is a chip or something near the board you might be able to read something off that to download the drivers. If it is a card you might need to remove the card from the computer and try to find a model number and search the net for the model number or post it on here for us to try to find. If you have a Dell or gateway you could go to the website and put in your serial number and should give you the sound drivers you would need. If the sound card is dead you might just want to go to a store and get a cheap replacement. Sound Blaster is good and all you need is maybe one that cost $25 or $35, there is also turtle beach which does well and is usually cheaper. The card will come with a driver cd. Hope something helps without having to buy a part, but sometimes a new part is needed :( .

You need to go into "Settings", "Device Manager". You will see a yellow icon and an open menu. This will be your sound card. Highlight the soundcard and select "Properties". You should then see the information required "no Drivers installed". Select "Install Drivers" and let Windows search automatically. Even if the manufactures drivers aren't detected, Windows has generic audio drivers and it will install those. If you have Drivers installed, select "Update Drivers".

Sounds like your missing your audio drivers. You need to find out what you are using to run your sound and install the drivers.

As with previous answer You should find out what brand your sound card is so that you can download new drivers if you have not got the original disk.
