What you witness are people who merely CALL themselves Christians. Those who follow the example of Christ don't hate.

Perhaps the anger is aimed at the institution rather than the member of it's congregation. The four organizations that repulse me are: The Roman Catholic Church. It is riddled with sexual abuse of it's young, they even have a department with a chairman to deal with these complaints, the offending priests are merely moved around from one place to another. Women are denied equality. A terrible place called Purgatory was invented to instill fear in the members, they are expected to buy candles to aid the plight of those who are dwelling there, waiting for judgement day. The Pope, an ordinary man is elected to office by Cardinals who have been granted high rank by the Pope. They claim miracles have been witnessed by members of the church, strangely, those who witnessed such miracles are almost exclusively young, poor, children. Priests are forbidden to marry, leading to a frustrated life of abstinence from nature's most poweful urges. Nuns go through a ceremony of marrying Jesus. All other religions are flawed in the eyes of this church. Everything about it flies in the face of the teachings of Jesus. Jehova's Witnesses: The consumate pests that badger others with a zeal that must make Satan envious. They interpret a few words in the bible to make it look like an unforgivable sin to have a blood transfusion. Scientology: A religion formed on a bet between L. Ron Hubbard and Carl Segan. Hubbard has made a huge fortune by selling his ideas to consumate fools such as Tom Cruise and John Travola, these men are two of the most successful men on Earth who have made millions being someone else, it leaves me dismayed that such people can be led like lambs by an unscruplous person. Jesus said,'It will be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than it would be for a rich man." Mormons, The Church of Latter Day Saints: Jesus is portrayed as a blue eyed blond American, they too, have sucked in some famous people. Latter Day Saints, other than Martin Luther King Jr. I can think of none. The only modern religion that truly works at Christinity is The Salvation Army, their doors are open to all and there has never been a hint of scandal. Think again, it is not Christians who are fault, it is their teachers and Christians take a great risk of offending their God if they don't do something positive to clean up their churches. God works in mysterious ways, he is watching his children.

I don't know personally I have no beef with the Christians short of the fact that they tried their best to kill off my religion because they did not understand it. so not only did they kill as many practicers of my religion as they could but then they tried to make everyone else think that my religion is a bunch of Satan Worshipers, which is hogwash cause Satan is a Christian creation and my religion does not even believe in a completely evil being we believe that there is good and evil in everyone and that there is a balance. a duality.
I think others bash on Christians so much because Christians tend to be quite pompous and feel that they are the only true believers and everyone else will go to hell.

I think it is because so many people have felt let down by the people they expected to love them "anyway". We expect Christians to have the love that Jesus did. And when we find that they are not capable of that love, then people lash out against Christianity. So we end up hating the thing that we want love from.

I don't know if this totally true. All religions get their share of attack and not necessarily Christianity. In my opinion not all Jews are good and not all are bad, the same applies for Christians and Muslims. it is not your religion that make you a good or a bad person, it is your behavior that could be an asset to the religion or a liability on it.

The hatred comes mostly from atheists. You may be familiar with the whole "angry atheists" movement that is growing in popularity. It seems that people committed to that philosophical view are militant and emotional. This makes sense if you think about it because it takes a leap of faith to jump from agnostic to atheist. It takes a lot of emotion to make that jump. These are people who cannot seem to rest while there is a group of people who think they are sinners who will go to hell. It irks them. Their ego can not stand it.
As a result they lash out with great fury at Christians every time they have an opportunity. They often resort to poor logic as they accuse Christians of being illogical. You will notice that the great majority of atheist questions either beg the question or resort to ad hominems. Angry people are rarely reasonable.
Even though these atheists make up a small percentage of the population, this militancy causes the angry atheists to have a disproportionably large representation here on Yahoo Answers. They seem to have found an outlet here in which to vent their hatred for Christianity and Christians. They seldom ask intelligent questions about Christianity. Typically they start their questions with "Why," and follow it with some generalized insult of Christians such as "Why don't Christians realize they are brainwashed?" When they answer Christian questions they do not give carefully reasoned, intelligent answers but instead they emote and name call. They will just pontificate that Christianity is false etc. without giving reasons for their belief.
I have learned to ignore their fallacies and emotions. I suspect many of them are young and will one day look back upon their childishness here on Yahoo Answers with embarrassment.

I Applaud you Robert! Jesus also said blessed are you when men men say all sorts of evil against you for great is your reward in heaven. Yes I think Christians do appear to be weird, Because we are not of this world, Jesus said we are not of this world, but we are in it, so in a sense y'all can call us aliens of the God kind.................smiles. I mean think about it, We have a joy and a hope, The world has no hope and joy, that's the worlds reality, And it is a bit weird to non Christians. The world teaches get what you can get, before someone else does, take care of self, on the other side Jesus teaches to Give, To take care of the Widow and orphan, ...........Now that's alien.

Because most in Yahoo Answers are worldly and Jesus said,Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Luk 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
Now that I have shown the Biblical reason why the World hates Christians I have Good News for the World...we Christians will not be here to trouble you much longer for soon the Lord Himself will return to take us with Him to live forever in Heaven. Until then you may scorn us persecute us, hate us, but you have no power against us.

I also see questions showing hate towards other religions or lack thereof(mostly from fundies, the crazy ones). Note I didn't say how many questions I saw. I just said it generally. So no accusing me of lies or whatever. Trust me, I've answered to some of those myself with a few choice words. No, not those choice words. My choice words. For any response towards crazy fundies.
Anyway, I like philosophical debate just like any other person might like. But I don't spot many questions that show hatred towards Christians(but maybe because I ignore those, I'lI occasionally go in to rant at them or something). I see questions that challenge the logic(or whatever you want to call it) of Christianity.

I could trust each thing you in simple terms suggested. I even have been answerable for taunting the atheist in this area. despite the fact that I do answer each question heavily I even have nonetheless been rude on some occastions. basically by using fact there replaced into disrespect comments interior the questions. i visit make it a purpose to have a extra acceptable temperment whilst answering questions. thank you for sharing your recommendations.
