in matthew 26: 36-46, jesus asked 3 disciples to stay and watch(keep alert and pray) but they slept! how could they sleep on such a very important night?(for jesus told them, tonight all of you will desert me. and he even told them he would be betrayed.) I guess.....they were made to sleep against their will. can anyone tell me?

VERY very good question!!! Why did He want them to stay up all night? They had been up all the day b4, they were all human, not 1/2 Deity like Jesus. But He needed them up because THIS is when He atoned for are sins, in a way only a god can do. so yes it was a very important night, maybe what He had to do had to be done alone, and it was God or Jesus Himself that put them down., I think they just wore out.

That day was a huge day. The disciples were past tired, they were utterly exhausted. They knew what they knew at the time but had yet to grasp the full weight of what was happening, and none had been baptised in the Holy Spirit (as that didn't happen till Pentecost). I'm sure if they had have realised the full implications of what was happening then they would have made more of an effort. They were not forced to sleep though, it was their choice, and in the end all of them never deserted Jesus again, it cost all of them their lives.

The answer seems to be that the Apostles were worn out with grief,Jesus had told them about that night and His betrayal at the hands of one of them and also His cruel death at the hands of the Jewish Priests, it is silly to put their tiredness down to wine as this would mean they were in fact in a state of drunkenness and this would not have been true at all.

BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT HE WAS MORTAL AND WAS DEAD! The disciples always had wavering beliefs. Thats what makes the Bible so relevant. These are exactly the questions you should ask yourslef in everyday life, not to study, to LIVE!

Jesus prayed to his father under the moonlit sky, and it was for a long time he did this, and the disciples just fell asleep under temptation of lucifer, basically we will learn from this, as it is telling us not to fall under temptation.
