Well depends if the difference is significant an noticeable.
If you were chubby, not a little bit but more, and now you have abs, I'd classify that as a noticeable difference and I'd say people will think better of you. You're living a healthier and good looking life, and people will respect you.
If you were just a little bit chubby, some flab here and there, and then you got abs, it wouldn't be a big difference unless you wore tight shirts or walked around lifting up your shirt, but you'll get at least some people to think better of you.
The respect depends on the difference.
The more stronger and fit you are, the more people will respect you.
And women love strong men with abs.

Man you must be young! Exercise to stay healthy and looking good will be a side effect. If you’re obsessing about size and look, it can become unhealthy. You may suffer the fate that many before you have and that’s morephenism. No matter how good you look or big you get, it’s never enough. If you don’t feel good about yourself, no matter how good you look won’t help. It also won’t hurt, but it will not help. If you feel ugly or less than, you’ll never feel good about yourself no matter how good you look.

depends on how you define chubby...if you lost significant inches off your waist then i'm sure they'll notice...but if it's just muscle gain, unless you plan on walking around topless or in skintight shirts i'm not sure you'll be so lucky....
Hope they do notice though...just so you get a little ego boost! lol

Unfortunately, yes. People seem to get better attention and treatment just because of their looks, and they would DEFINITELY notice it. Most of them might treat you better, and I'm sorry to say that TRUE friends that are uninfluenced by looks probably don't exist. You yourself are most probably influenced by looks. That's human nature.

I imagine that they will notice the difference. But if they think differently of you, then they aren't true friends. Friends care about you whatever you look like.
