No sincere question is stupid. That's what we are here for. To ask and to educate.
Ya gotta remember that many askers are kids. .We just aren't born knowing everything. .If their parents haven't had pets, and taught them the basics, the schools don't do it..soo that's why we are here.

When I DO get stressed, is when they ask, and then won't accept the truth, cuz it isn't what they wanna hear.
(like when should I breed my dog) They sure don't want to hear what is said about that!

I am going to respond about your seven most annoying questions .

1.) Some dogs get lose and breed with other dogs and those poor owners of the female have to sell them as i doubt every one has it in them to take care of and raise 4-12 puppies.

2.)Half of this would be reasonable, shedding and the general friendliness of the dog does depend on the breed. But i get were your coming from and it baffles me why people use this site to make huge decisions like what kind of dog to get.

3.) Some people simply run out of money and don't have a money tree in their back yard...lol...but to answer that question to anyone who has the same problem ask your friends or family to lend money or ask your vet for financial problems. If you are really worried and the case is extreme and you are brave enough you can give your pet up and the vet office will usually take them on and treat them.

4.)Ya, those questions would bug me too but i think this is largely the media's fault, they see dressed up dogs on TV(by they way those dogs are trained to do that) and they think, that would be adorable looking on my dog.

5.) First of all this is a statement with a question mark behind it. Second, there is nothing wrong with breeding your dog if you have the time, money and patience to do it, if your are trying to make it a one time thing for profit I'm telling your right now you'll lose money. As long as you talk it over with your vet.

6.)Some people are just clueless and are trying to learn.

7.) Some people( like my family who took 2 weeks to name our impulse puppy) can't think of good names.

Overall i do not think any of these are stupid questions. The only thing stupid in your whole question was the fact you brought this up and think these questions are stupid. Oh, and purposely misspelling chihuahua was also pretty stupid.

You forgot these:

My dog is dying what do I do?
Why did my dog die?
my dog keeps peeing on my bed, how can I stop it?
Can I use sevin dust to treat my dog for fleas?
How can I register my dogs with AKC if the parents are not registered?

The questions asking for names do not bother me because they are harmless, it is the other questions that are troublesome and scary, but some of the answers given are just as scary and a lot of times dangerous.

Stupidity has run amuck on YA. It is scary that these people will reproduce themselves.

Stupid is, as stupid does.

She, if you were truly an animal lover, you would be just as annoyed that people do not have any respect for animals or common sense where animals are concerned. They let their sick pets suffer and seek no help from a vet because they can not afford it or breed their without any knowledge for the cash it will bring in and when something goes wrong they do nothing but ask questions. Also in regards to breeding, not all dogs should be bred and if you have to ask here you should not be breeding. C'mon if you can sit behind a keyboard and ask a question, then surely, they could just as easily look up a low cost clinic in their area so they can get their pet the help it needs.

Does that feel better? Many of us get frustrated, and we understand where you're coming from. I ignore many questions that are not life or death for the dog, (What should I call my puppy, He won't wear the frilly pink doggy panties) but answer others that could mean the difference between educating an owner in a way that benefits the dog's health, or the owner taking poor advice that will be detrimental to the dog and the pet population in the whole. (I want to breed my dog, Can't afford vet)

I'm with chetco on this one.

I refuse to get annoyed by the "What should I call my puppy?" question. I just assume it's some child that's got a little over-excited at their new pet. They are essentially doing no harm.

The ones I can't stand are the ones who won't accept what you say. Those who have already decided they are going to breed their unproven dog, purebred or otherwise ("papered" is NO guarantee of quality) and just want somebody to validate their choice.

The ones who (for some reason) **insist** on keeping their dog away from the vet, and just want to ask unqualified people in cyberspace how to treat it themselves.

The ones who annoy me the most however are those who lay claim to greater knowledge/authority than they really posess. It scares me when those type of answers come out because you never know how many people who are new to the site, or just casual observers might take notice of what they say.

On top of that, there's the ones who say "ignore the spay/neuter police", but are then conspicuous by their absence when things go wrong, or when they are asked to explain their point of view.

I don't mind people showing a lack of knowledge. Everybody starts by knowing nothing, and if they are actually willing to receive help, at no matter how basic a level - that's great.

He who asks a question may be a fool for 5 minutes, but he who remains silent remains a fool forever.

If you keep an open mind it's surprising how much you can learn.

Well, I'm guilty of asking #7 - or something similar anyway - and I'm not a child. I'd say "Ouch!" but I'm numbing myself with a nice glass of wine after a long, active day. ;-) OK, it was a frivolous question, but I don't think particularly stupid. And it was my five points to waste as I see fit. (Btw, we just visited our puppies today and will have to seriously figure this out before they come home in two weeks. We can't keep calling them the default "Laddie" and "Lassie".)

I'm more frustrated by the answers than the questions - especially responses that have nothing to do with the question I asked. I've actually deleted questions rather than let someone earn 10 points for being the only person to respond with unrelated blather or a personal rant. There! I've confessed it. Call me petty.

I will not even attempt to answer this question because I am definitely getting kicked out if I do, I will however say that I have a new and novel approach to the spay/neuter idea that is being proposed here.......

Sorry people, I do get annoyed by some of the questions. BUT, it's the ones that ask what would happen if I abused my dog or cat? I think if you don't like what your reading then go on to something else or just don't get on Yahoo's answers. You don't have to read them or answers them if you think it's STUPID ! Also I think if you want to breed your dog or cat it's up to the person that owns them, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A BREEDER, I have gotten my dogs from people that are NOT breeders, from the paper or from the dog shelter here. I do not think you have to be a breeder to sale puppies & for them to be healthy, you just have to do alot of reading & asking questions. How do you think breeders got where they are today ? They just didn't wake up one day & say I want to become a breeder & know everything about breeding, they had to learn it. There are also some pretty SH breeders out there too. I too sold puppies, but I'm NOT A BREEDER. They got their shots & dewormed, I also told them, if they found out they didn't want the puppy to bring it back to me ! Ya know, no one ever gave me one of my puppies back or called to tell me it was sick, & yes they were AKC puppies. Talk about STUPID QUESTIONS, you don't have to be a breeder to know what you are doing, just learn what you are doing before you try to breed your pet ! I'm sorry, but this just got me going about breeders !

yes they get annoying and sometimes i feel like i can just copy and paste my way through most A's....casue i know i just typed this the day or so before. many of these people are kids or young adults getting their first pet....that maybe never got to own a dog before. and i feel if i don't answer some training questions that this dog could end up in the shelter...because the owner could not train it(happens often)....and while having money is somthing u need when u have pets it doesn't always happen this way...and i feel bad for those pets and their people. the breeding and sale ones get on my nerves the most. and designer mutts. that they call a breed. and then when u tell them what it is they get mad. and that buying a dog from a pet shop or a 'breeder' of mutts is not a good idea....if u didn't want the truth...then u shouldn't ask...some turn spoiled brat fast.others are thankful that they learned something.

As Chetco said a lot of the questions come from kids. Those I can take and even try to be helpful. What really gets me are those who ask a question, but you are only supposed to answer with what they want to hear. A good example was a couple of days ago.

Someone asked abut their Pappillion (sp) who only had one decended testicle. They had been advised by their vet to neuter it, but they wanted to breed it just once and what should they do.

A bunch of us regulars answered all with pretty much the same thing. There is a reason these dogs should not be bred seeing as it's a genetic fault and can be passed on etc. Then there was one who reccommended getting a sperm count to see if there was enough to breed or something like that. It was totally not a good answer so I never really read it. That of course was what they wanted to hear so it got best answer.

Now come on if you only want people to back up your bad idea's why ask in the first place? Why not just go ahead and do it because you are going to anyway. Those are the ones that really get to me.

Most of the breeding ones I don;t even bother with anymore unless it looks like someone who is genuinly asking and will listen to what is said.

The vet ones just break my heart. Some days I just can;t face them. So many times I have sat and cried thinking of a dying dog who's owner thinks Gatoraid will make it all better and won't take it to the vet for any reason. That a broken bone will really mend on it's own and be okay. That a dog who has been hit by a car only needs a cuddle and a warm blanket. The list is endless. Others I try and reason why if you can afford a computer, internet etc you have means to get that vet money by selling the computer etc. That tends to be on days when I have read that so many times I just can;t take it anymore. Those who really want help I will do all I can to share all I know and I'm happy to take it to e-mail if that is easier for them too. I want to help. Some people you just can't.

In general now I tend to look for what my contacts have starred. I know they are either really interesting questions or ones that should get attention. When I do go through the others if it is good I star for my contacts too for that same reason

Some people are animal 'owners'
Some are animal lovers,
the latter usually take time to find out things and research before even making the decision to get an animal, the former shouldn't even own one!
So in answer to your question, YES they do annoy me but I do answer a lot of them, hoping they will make the poor animals that they have, lives a bit better.
