You are correct when you say that Buddhists should not eat beef, however, some Christians should eat fish on a Friday but choose to eat meat instead. The reason that Buddhists should not eat beef is because it, the cow, is, or was, an animal that worked in the rice fields. You don't eat your tools. I am afraid that this is the real world and if a Buddhist has a liking for beef, which many have, they will eat it. There is no shortage of beefburgers and they are not just consumed by the tourists. I was equally surprised as you when I holidayed in Morocco and found many Muslims in the bars drinking beer. As one Muslim put it to me when I asked about this. It doesn't matter whether you drink beer, or I suppose in this case, eat beef. What matters is the way you live your life and treat other people.

The Burgers are like anywhere else and made of beef. Also the Buddhist Thai's eat them a lot. Actually Mc Do and Co. get more and more popular with the locals!

Sir, you're dead wrong. Buddhists can eat anything. Monks allowed to eat everything. The principle of Buddhism when it comes to eating is that Monks must eat without choosing. Some monks mix up any foods that offered to them in a pot and eat them all together. That's the essence of Buddhism, eating only to survive, and avoiding the temptations of the taste of foods.
There are so many McDonald and Burger King in Thailand, although you may want to try Thai food, or even burgers from other restaurant that taste much nicer than those fast food chains.

From what i know is my friends who are strict buddhists do not eat beef. On the other hand i also have friends who eat them. I also have Indian friends who eat beef. So, i believe at the end of the day it all comes down to how a person was brought up, the values that were instilled at home from young.
Me, i love fish and i avoid meats as much as possible.

Yes you can buy Beef (Neu-ah) al over thailand but my friends eat more fish (bplah) pork (Moo) Chicken (Gai) and egg (Kai). Eat rice or just eat (gin kaow).
Lots of places serve beef. But I must say my friends in Thailand refrain from eating beef but they do drink milk. I agree that it probably has to do with the cow or puffalo being the tractor. If you eat the tool you use to make rice next year you don'tget much rice.
And it always freeks me out that people come on here and say I'm thai and we don't do that when my experience directly contradicts what they are saying. Maybe they should start going to the Wat and spend more time out in the country instead of the Mall.

You are confusing Hinduism with Buddhism. Buddhist do eat beef if they are not vegetarian.
So, you get burgers as you would from any McDonald outlet around the world, with supply originating from the US.
