I forgot to mention, he "scratches" his butt on the floor.. like, he sits down, and then he crawls, like he is scratching his butt. Eww... yep he has worms. Its the one that gives you an itchy anus.

ko, ew.. I just looked it up.. he doe shave tapeworms.. and the only way I can get it is if I ingest it, so I need to keep my hands washed at all times and keep food and beverages away. They're called tapeworms because the "head" have hooks that hook onto your intestines. and tapeworms are made of 100'sof segments so everytime you boo-boo the segments come off.. they are proglottids

1) He could have gotten them from outside, or another littermate/dog.

2) Bring him to the vet, and they will de-worm him. Also, het Heartguard-there's a better edition that helps protect from heartworm, tapeworms, AND roundworms.

3) Highly un-likely, but don't risk it. Humans CAN get worms from dogs.

4) Use bleach. That will kill them all.

5) Most likely roundworms or tapeworms.

6) Bugspray will not do it. Use bleach.

Most puppy's are born with worms . Take your puppy to a vet for a health check and get all the shots it needs to keep it healthy . The vet will check for worms and will tell you what kind they are . The vet will give your puppy the wormier it needs to get rid of them. If you don't get it wormed soon the worms will kill your puppy. People can get some types of worms I am not sure which ones they are and it is poss able to get worms from walking barefoot were a animal has pooped and had worms so ask your vet if the worms your puppy has can be passed to you. A little soap and water should be good to clean the spot up wear gloves when you clean the spot up . Dogs can get worms from other animals just from being were another one has been that had worms. Ask your vet on how a dog gets worms if this did not help you.

He is likely ready for his second shots. If so, just get him in and vaccinated and the vet will give you wormer at the same time. If shots are not due, just describe the worms to your vet, and you can get the right medicine.
Most puppies are born with roundworms, that look like spaghetti. Humans don't get them from puppies. The puppy got them from its mom.
At 11 weeks old, the only mature worm you will likey see is roundworms. However, if he has ever had fleas, he may be carrying tape worms, also. . You can't get canine tape worms in ANY way but from eating a flea! Your vet is the best to provide the right med, and it isn't expensive.
My vet charges $5 for the roundworm med, and $7 for tapeworm med.
If your vet carries Revolution, it is great, as it gets rid of all puppy parasites..That will cost about $13.
No, you don't need to use clorox...old wive's tale.

First of all, most puppies to get worms. They are easily and cheaply treated.
No, you won't catch them, just get them taken care of as soon as possible because they are dangerous to your puppy.
Don't get the store bought kind. They aren't as effective and you really should have him checked out before any treatment.
Have the vet do a fecal exam to figure out exactly what kind they are. Roundworms and tapeworms are usually the ones found in stool or vomit.
After the fecal test, they will give a dewormer, and that will be the end of it. Dewormers work very quickly and usually only require 1 dose.
This should all cost less tham $100 at the vet including the exam, tests, and treatment.

EDIT: Other than extreme cases, worms are NOT transferrable to humans. You would have to have a very unclean home and a low immune system. Just clean the spot well and you will be fine.

Okay, settle down, it;s not a big deal. To get a tapeworm, you have to ingest fleas, so I'm sure your fine. And roundworms are not passed to humans unless you eat the eggs so unless you eat dog crap, you are fine!!!
Just get him treated and wash your hands a lot until he is treated.

You need to talk to a Vet to get ride of the worms, should be medicine by mouth.

Also, you should talk to the breeder as your puppy probably has had them. The pup should have been given a worm shot after being born...

Hey, don't feel too nervous about the whole situation, when I got my Pom around 10 weeks old, I noticed he had tape worms in his poop too. I took him to a vet and also took with me a "fresh" sample of poop for them to analyze, they gave him a couple of shots ( i think it was 2 total shots but at different dates) and he was clean after that. Your pup might also need his anal sacs drained if he still scoots his butt on the carpet after the medication. Regular deworming shots do not get rid of tapeworms, so tell your vet that and they will know what medication to give him.

That's normal for puppies to have worms, you will need to de worm him regularly take him to the vet and they'll show you what to do and give you what's nesc to treat him. It is VERY important to treat worms right away though even though it's normal because left untreated he will die.
