My best friend of 14 years is getting married next weekend and I"m struggling to write a speech. I want it to flow well and have a lot of humor, but can't seem to come up w/ anything. I'm worried that a lot of the humor I can provide deals mostly w/ private jokes between me and her...obviously the audience won't get it. I've read a ton of tips, I really need to find sample text that I can use to pack a humorous punch to my speech. Most websites out there want you to pay them to write a speech for you.....how can they write about someone they dont even know??? Please give me some sample advice. Thanks!

also start off funny, talk about a disaster date they went on and later the bride told you that she would never date him again. there will be some laughs, then you go, but seriously folks, these two are made for each other.

I would suggest to not try and be funny, but to just be yourself and speak form the heart. I found a few sites that may behelpful, on weddingspeechbuilder.com there isn't a Maid Of Honor speech I would suggest going into the Best man Speech. There are examples and you can jsut change some of the wording. Good luck!

Well, you should talk about the first time you met her (or your first memory of her). Go through important points in your long friendship and how much you've changed each other's lives. You can also talk a little bit about how happy she looks with her new husband and stuff like that. :)
Some private jokes are okay! Your friend will love that you made it so personal, even if the audience doesn't really get it - so keep a few of them in there.
