Say you were into 'astral projection' and you went off for a bit of a wander (as you do), and someone discovered your body and killed it, what would happen to your 'astral' self. There's supposed to be a 'link' like a thread, to the body, so what if it was severed?

Hmmmmm..........I umm.........regularly think of scenarios like this in my daily astral projecting. Lol.
But seriously, if I came back to my mutilated body, I (or my spirit) would think, "Crap. This isn't good. I'm outta here".
Actually, Ritichie Blackmore of Deep Purple, Rainbow and Blackmore's Night was reputedly into this.
Stuffed if I know why. I'm sure he wealthy enough to afford air travel.
P.S. I'd like to astral travel right now and kick that guy of the first response right out of his planetary alignment.

Sounds like you've been reading the old "Dr. Strange" comic books... I love them.
Truth is, we come and go out of our bodies all the time... mostly during sleep, but we do leave for short moments throughout the day as well. We can only leave the physical body for short periods of time.
The "ego" keeps the autonomic systems going while we are gone.
The "astral self" is just another name for your spirit.
Yes, if someone killed the physical body while we were out, then we would have to go on into the Light just like we would under any other "death experience". The link between body and spirit is severed at death.

I'm guessing that if one were stabbed or shot, then it would be like that body yanked on the string connecting it to it's soul and would pull it back in. In other words you would "wake up," regain body consciousness," or whatever else it's called when you come out of astral projection mode.

I'm guessing you would be stuck in the astral plane OR you would go to the next state of life as your body would be dead and you could no longer enter the corporal world.

The same thing that would happen if your astral body was in your physical body. The cord would be severed and you would permanently seperate.

i have astrally projected (i think thats how you should say it) before, and my opinion of it is that it is nothing more than a very vivid, lucid dream.
So, um, if your body died, well, it would be like dying from a heart attack or anything else. (i think)

Basically, you'd stop astral projecting and you'd return to your bod before it dies completely.
