Like Red Dragon, arabmuslim and Noor said: A WOMAN CAN ONLY LEAD OTHER WOMEN IN PRAYER. That's in Islam.

But you know what, you can join Ameena Wadood and become her moqtadi.

I think you suffer from different kind of blindness:
صم بكم عمي فهم لا يرجعون
(سورة البقرة 18)

See? All the things you counted are in that ayah.

Dear spidermanjamal,

Yes off course woman can lead prayer! Biblically the Bible tells us to pray without ceasing- and i have found in some churches that woman are the strongest prayer warriors!

Woman can lead prayer meetings! The instructions about woman leading- have to do with being in a position of leadership over the men (ie: Woman Pastors). And this is what Paul is addressing in 1 Corinthians- as well as some of the issues particular to the Corinthian church where the woman were disturbing Paul as he shared the gospel.

Woman can lead prayer anywhere at any time Biblically.

Kindly,

Nickster

Only if she is leading women in prayer. If it is men and women then only a man is allowed to lead in Prayer. I believe it's everywhere in the Islamic world.

speak with knowledge please! only arabmuslim spoke the truth, women can only lead the fellow muslimas, women can not lead men in prayer, check the link..

edit: spider, brother spider! you have no excuse for listening to females as they recite the Surahs.. if you are really deaf then you will not hear who recite so you can still listen to men :D

other: if you are blind: what has blindness got to do with hearing? :))))) come on..

living without limbs: it is very sad, i am really sorry, BUT just because you have no arms, you still can not listen to women, you are still a man..

i hope it helped you

Yes, there are assistant ministers at 2 of the Methodist churches here in town. Women also lead prayer in Bible studies all over.
There are women elders and deacons in 2 Presbyterian Churches here as well.

PAUL was the one who advocated that women ought not preach or speak in church. Jesus did not say that.

Prayer is spiritual warfare and is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12). In such warfare we all are engaged in the spiritual realm and when we are engaged in the Spirit there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, neither male nor female; for we are all one in Christ. In Christ, we all are are sons of God and priests and kings of the Most High God. Women can lead in prayer when they are impressed by the Lord to do so. There is no spiritual barrier to this. There are many well-known women who are prayer leaders like Cindy Jacobs for one.

WTF... I've never heard of women not being able to "lead in prayer". I would guess she could do it anywhere unless you're in some crazy part of the world which hates women.
