if you know all of that the why do it???
all you lose by starving is water weight and muscle not fat and even if you somehow magically do lose those 20lbs you will be at that weight for a minute -literally and then balloon in a couple of days.
plus - body needs healthy fats - you cant lose weight by not consuming them -body transforms all you eat into energy and only if there is some left unused its being stored in fat reserves.
also - eating 3 times a day wont help you lose weight -you have to eat small meals every 2-3 hours (thats 5-6 small meals a day)

You actually would probably not lose 20 pounds.
Assuming your female, mid-20's, and about 5'5" tall (all assumptions as you left out this key information), your daily caloric needs with your excercise level are probably about 2300 to maintain your current weight. If you only intake 600 calories per day, that'll leave you a deficit of about 1700 calories.

You'd be in the negative about 51,000 calories after a month. 3,500 calories make a pound, so that would net your loss at about 14 pounds.

Factor in the slowdown of your metabolism over that month, and it's more likely you'd probably only lose about 10 pounds.

The month after, when you went back to a normal, healthy diet, that "starvation mode" you don't want anybody to mention would likely result in you gaining MORE than those 10 pounds back.

So, after punishing your body for a month, you'd lose 10 pounds.

The month after, you'd probably gain back 15-20.

A more realistic goal for you is to intake about 1500 calories per day, and lose that 20 pounds over about 4 months.

Good luck.

i tried what you did
but i just want you to know,
once your metabolism decreases
it will take a while to get it to increase again to a point where you can eat the standard 1500 calories again
and you'll gain all 20 pounds back.

Also, you will lose a lot of muscle mass.

Based on my calculations you will lose about 14 lbs. However, my first number (2248) was based off of a height of 64 inches, (5'4"), and and an age of 23. To adjust this go to:http://www.marathonguide.com/fitnesscalcs/Caloricneeds.cfm. Then modify my calculations in part A, and E, and F.
A.) 2248kcal x 30d=67440kcal

B.) 600kcal x 30d= 18000kcal

C.)3500kcal/1lb of fat

D.)3500 x 20lbs =70000

E.) 67440-18000=49440

F.)49440/3500=14 lbs.

yes you will in approximately 3 months time. but can do it in 2 months if you keep it at 750 calories so you won't go to starvation mode.

Not for that long....

Eventually your hunger pains will get to you. When they do you will eat to much and your body will store it as fat.
