Why do they preach against and pick on one of society's least understood and most hated underdogs: homosexuals? Didn't 'God' create gays, too?

It's easy to be cold when you live in a two dimensional world of black and white, good and evil, heaven and hell, where some people just aren't people--Gays are nowhere near the first people that Xians have persecuted, blacks, bi-racial couples, people with birthmarks, the left-handed--all imperfections have at one time been used as an excuse to subject human beings to the witch trials and hellfires of the religious right

That's a thoughtful question. Here's my answer: I don't believe that homosexuality is right. I do not believe in using homophobic phrases. I do not believe that God hates homosexuals. I don't hate homosexuals. Now here lies the problem. Like everyone in this world... they are sinners. Now, the reasoning behind the stance against it is that is not only a sin against God, but also against their own bodies... just like sexual immoralities (fornication, masturbation, etc.) Now, I personally don't hate homosexuals, but I do hate their sin... just like I hate my mother's sin... It's not right in God's eyes (i.e. sin). But I agree.. I feel they are picked on, but I also don't like how some homosexuals rub it in my face... I live in a town that has a yearly pride festival, and it makes for an uncomfortable week.

Not all Christians are anti-gay. There are any number of denominations that not only welcome gay parishioners, but in some cases, also ordain them to the clergy. The Episcopal Church, Unitarian Universalists, Metropolitan Community Churches, Unity and many others are rather gay-friendly. Just thought I'd point that out.

Why would another look for flaws in other people? To hid their own of course. If you point out every thing wrong with others people forget about your faults....not Christians are cold because they are people, like everyone else. We have as many faults (if not more) as anyone else. Some just like to think that they don't.

I've never seen a school yard bully pick on one of the popular kids...instead they pick on the ones that are stereotypically unpoplar outcasts who are less likely to be backed by the majority.
For some people, making others look 'unrighteous' or 'sinful' boosts their selfesteem and makes them feel more holy. Although that's pretty illogical when you think about it...

We are not all "cold," and I don't preach against homosexuals.

Speaking of misunderstood, some people misunderstand some of us Christians and hate us more than anything in the universe.

I am a Christian , and I am a loving and giving person, you should stop stereotyping people, we all are not the same , all atheists are not the same either , the only thing we Christians have in common, that we all have the same mind, which is the mind of Christ.

God created all people but he didn't make anyone gay. Why do you think he created man and woman? Christians are not cold. They are filled with love, understanding, and a desire to help others achieve eternal life through Jesus Christ, but they don't put up with no crap.

Nice retaliation :) Not all are, but some (as seen on here) can be cold and cruel. Though in any group there are a few bad people that just can't be nice.
