There are a number of helicopter pilots in the NY area making six figure incomes. The beauty about helicopter jobs as apposed to the international executive jet flying that I do is that you are home almost every night with your family.

Well that sounds pretty greedy.. are you really that good?

I figure that if you were people would be calling you and you wouldn't be asking yahoo questions.. (hope you have a sense of humor)

but here is a tid bit.. if you call community colleges in major city's you can ask them for a web site to their career profiles. there are some national ones and I havent seen one in a long time so I can't refer you.. this is how i found out about careers and cost of living in different areas..
You may get good info from one and bad from another.. just keep trying until you find what you want..
They have this for people that go for career counseling. it gives:

average salary
if the market is open for hire or over populated.
it sometimes gives information for sign on bonuses and moving expenses for types of employment that there is a desperate need for.
etc.. etc..

good luck

Flying shuttle flights on the North Sea oil rigs. Horrible flying conditions, lousy hours and very family unfriendly but lots of £££ due to the conditions.

Becoming a pilot for an airline is very profitable. Not only that, you get free tickets and passes for your entire family.
