Meekness is not weakness! The statement you refer to is found in the Gospel of Matthew and the Sermon on the Mount.

Blessed are....Happy are!

The Greek word for meek is the same word used for the end result of breaking a wild horse. The wild horse is of no value but able to be bridled and saddled that horse has great value and great power under control. Meekness is power under control. Christ and a full relationship with Him is the only way to have that kind of meekness in life and those living under control in Christ's power will indeed inherit the earth.

This is a reference of Christ's coming Kingdom ruling with His disciples for a thousand years on the earth. AS it is know the earth is worthless and under control of Satan.

This current Age is coming to a close. Jesus Christ has promised to return, and when He does He will bring His saints with Him in glorified bodies like His own. These will rule and reign upon the earth with Him for 1000 years. Then the saying will be fulfilled "the meek shall inherit the earth."

To be saved, you have to understand you are a sinner. You also have to understand that, by yourself, there is nothing you can do to erase this sin. To accept Jesus as your savior, and repent of sin, takes humility. Humility is meekness. Those who have confessed their sins, and accepted Christ as savior, will inherit the kingdom of God...which one day will include a new heaven and a new earth.
