So, I want a dog so bad. In mind, a beagle. My mom wouldn't mind having a puppy but she is allergic. I want to find a dog allergy medicene. Last time she took one though...about 9 years ago, she was cooking and than she passed out and almost killed the house. I'm looking for an allergy medication that is:

NON DEPENDENT
NON DROWSY
& HAS NO SEVERE SIDE EFFECTS

I would love you forever if you helped me.

Maybe you should just ask about a hypo-allergenic dog (poodles)
Bear in mind though that this may not be your mom's only stumbling block regarding a dog. Quite literally, there is no magic pill.

I would suggest talking to a doctor.. most OTC allergy meds are drowsy or have side effects. Most of them are only good for seasonal or occasional allergies, not for every day use.

Some of the prescription allergy meds are a little better at controlling every day allergies.

You may want to consider breeds that are better for allergies.. beagles are not one of them. Also, I reccommend looking for an adult, not a puppy. Puppies produce less allergens than an adult, so although your mom may not have a reaction to the puppy, she may become allergic to it as it matures. It would be better to test some adults and find one she doesnt react to.

she needs to go to an allergy doctor and get a series of allergy shots, after running some tests. No pill or medicine like that can be a long term solution.

zyrtec helps and so does rhincort aqua, a poodle, shih tzu or maltese, coton de tular or similar type may be a better choice since they are touted as non allergic type of dogs, they arent fully non allergic but they do have much less dander. Good luck

I think you should get a dog when you've moved out of the house. That's a huge burden to put on your mom.
