i bought some whole milk for my daughter and i tried it just to see cause i've never had it before and it was so gross! it smelled like milk and doesn't expire til aug.30 was it just me or was it bad? i didnt give it to her by the way.

When I was a kid I grew up on a dairy farm and drank fresh milk right from the cow. It was creamy and delicious. I guess because i grew up drinking it that I still like it. I think that to someone who has consumed store bought milk would think that whole milk smelled "funny". And taste "funny". Whole milk is very rich and thick. You were right not to give any to your child simply because the rule is "When in doubt, throw it out". Altho I will say that I believe that whole milk is very good for kids. I like whole milk. To me it tastes creamy and tastes good as well as smells good (if not going bad and soon to turn in to buttermilk).
I have noticed that sometimes even if milk is supposed to get out of the store by a certain date as shown on the carton or gallon that it will expire on the date any way.
I heard that in the media that the date on the gallons and cartons have to do with when the stores need to get the milk sold by but I have not always found that to be the case when I bring it home.
If you noticed that the milk is bad smelling (like sour) but the expiration date is not for a while, let the manager of the store where you bought it know what happened.

I've been drinking whole milk my whole life but most people that I've talked to who have tried it for the first time when they were an adult said that they didn't like it. Next time you decide to give her whole milk just make sure there is someone around who knows what the milk should be like so that you can feel safe giving it to your daughter.

Why didn't you ask a real person in your life?
How in the world are we people in cyberspace going to know if you got some bad milk? Next time ask a neighbor so your poor kid can have a glass of milk.
