On hair dryers there are cold shot buttons. What do they do...are they better than regular heat?

You use the cold shot button after your hair is completely dry. The blast of cold adds shine to your hair and holds it in place better.

They are just a quick cold blast - for setting. Style falls out of hot hair - a cold shot button cools it!

when you are done using the heat, the cold shot is there to hold it in place better.

it is used to lock in place-- example say you are blow drying your hair but flippin the end as you dry -- when done you should "cold shot" it for 10 or so seconds to lock it into place
