I want to stay friends with her, and not ruin our professional relationship. She also has the same name as my sister, which is an ick-factor to me :(

She's calls me a lot, and asks me to "hang out" with her... inviting me places, asking me out to dinner. How can I tell her, without hurting her feelings?
I'm a sensitive guy, and I would really like to stay friends with her.
I'm concerned because she's been a single mom for a while, and I don't want to hurt her when I say that I don't want to have a romantic relationship with her.

She's also older, and I'm not attracted to her in a physical way.

Don't say that just say, "you are a really sweet lady but I just don't think we have a lot in common. Plus I really don't want to combine work and dating. I would like to stay friendly and professional with you". Don't you DARE tell her she reminds you of mommie, she will be grossed out and ticked off and will tell all the other ladies in the office about it.

Just tell her something like you remind me so much of my mom or you and my mom would have been friends, you act so much alike . I think that's why were are such good friends. You could also say that thank god we are only friends because one of my ick-factors for me is dating someone who has the same name as a family member. How do you feel about this? You could also ask her if she has any single friends, or you might just try to be honest with her and say, It might be just me , but I've been feeling like I'm giving you the wrong impression on our relationship. So, I want you to know I value our friendship and hope that you aren't disappointed in the fact that I just want to be friends/Co-workers with you. Good luck.

dude i just had to do the same thing with a guy i work with....its sucks majorly and there is really no easy or painless way of doing it...but just tell her that you are not realy feeling the chemistry but that she is a really great person adn that it would be a terrible shame to loose a great person like her as a friend. That should probably work. Good luck

My best friend is Kim. She and her sister are both married to guys named Kevin. Her Kevin has a brother who also married a girl named Kim.
So it's Felicia and Kevin, Kevin and Kim, and Kim and Keith.
Tell the girl about this and she'll run for the hills. Tell her you don't date ppl who have your sister's name.

Then tell her the truth.
"You know, you really look like my mother. The resemblance is really striking, that may be why I like you so much." Make it a positive. Then later you can do the same thing with your sister's name. She should get the hint from that.

Your "buddy" wish feels like she is unbalanced -- and her habit sounds plenty like histrionic character illness. She replaced into possibly considered one of those twits who pretend to be bisexual to get interest, and then desperate to coach over to sturdy Little Het lady whilst she could no longer locate yet another lady to play her video games. on the 2d, faunching over gay adult adult males supplies her some thing to act out approximately without possibility of actually sexual involvement. i think of you are able to drop this chick like a warm brick, by using fact she of course has no know or kindness for you as a chum and is in simple terms possibly to reason you problem. i think of she desires expert counseling, i for my area do. do no longer take her barbed comments heavily - locate different acquaintances.

Make it obvisious, dont give her too much attention.....talk to her about other women you think are attractive. She'll get the idea then leave you alone.
