Can one develop and increase psychic abilities and how?

Question

I have several siblings in my family who have witnessed spirits in my childhood home and other varriuos places. At times they were seen by more than one sibling at a time. Being that they were seen by two people at a time, I feel it's pretty credible. Also knowing my bros and sisters are not liars.. I know them to believe they saw what they did. I'm wondering why I haven't had theis profound experiences. Any insight?

Schitzophrenia doesn't explain two people seeing the same thing at the same time! And besides there are no other symptoms of schitzo..
come one you guys give me a real answer or dont answer!!

kitty kat- I'm not seeing any thing exc... why would do you feel I should see a doctor. and if it's all in the head why would it explain two people having an experiance together? I want your opinion .

Psychic abilities are all bunk. You can gain skills in pretending to have psychic abilities. You can even convince yourself that those skills really have something to do with psychic abilities. However, nobody really develops any psychic abilities.

We all have abilities you just have to know how to find them within yourself and develop them. Its like if you have ever tried a new sport - snow skiing for the first time for example. The next day you realize you have muscles places you didnt know you had them. These abilities are the same way. As for ghosts/ spirits. I have never had any experiences with them. Although I do live in a house where several people have died of natural causes. No ghosts reported but things unexplain have happened. Being a free spirit in life I dont think much about it. I do have two cats though and in some superstitions they have been known to ward off evil spirits. And I just figure they are just staring and meowing at a blank wall for their amazement purposes. I have worked in a hospital where many souls have been taken and lost and even assisted in the death aftermath and I have never seen a ghost/spirit that I am aware of. Many people have that I have worked with. As for the spirits it is either one of two things - either a person is not reseptive to an entity, or any entity doesnt feel - if it does feel - doesnt present itself to certain live souls, because there is no need. On the same note I have seen many things unexplained that were nothing short of a miracle. Example - while in the armed services I happened to be standing next to a guy who was run over by a tank, it mangled his body like a puppet, and yes he died almost instantly. Same situation, a guy near my platoon gets run over by a tank in the same manner and he gets up and walks away with not even a scratch. A miracle. That guy had a purpose in life as we all do. And when that purpose is complete so are we.

The basic answer is that you don't have the same level of psychic ability they have. All human beings have different degrees of psychic ability. However, some people choose to develop it and some choose to suppress their ability (Usually as a result of their belief system). The best way to increase your psychic ability is to enter a metaphysical school. A good school will teach how to develop it in a SAFE manner. It will take time and a commitment to know yourself and your place in this planet. If you read a book that promised you "psychic ability in ten lessons" stay away from it. Two schools that I can recommend are The Rosicrucians AMORC and the Edgar Cayce organization. There are many schools that claim a lot of things, please be careful, psychic abilities are not as important as spiritual growth. I hope this info was helpful. Take care. :)

Children are often more in tune to these things. Also, some people have a natural ability that others don't. I think it's somewhat genetic, since these abilities due tend to run in families. It's kind of like some people can just start drawing. They don't know why or from where it comes, it just does. The same thing with psychic abilities. It is better to not try to develop these, as eventually you will come across spirit entities who may wish to cause you or those around you harm or to deceive you. It is better to stick to enemies that you can see!

There is no credible evidence that psychic phenomenon exist. There have been hundreds of studies, tests, contests, rewards offered, etc, and there has NEVER, EVER been conclusive proof. Not once. Science widely regards these claims as superstition and coincidence. When people "say" they saw something, that is NOT proof, it's anecdote. In order for a claim to be entertained seriously, it has to be testable, measurable, and independently repeatable. If it cannot meet those criteria, it's just nonsense.

If you want to believe in these things, and you aren't harming yourself or anyone else, fine, but understand you are simply engaging in delusional thinking.

People who answer this question affirmatively are only reinforcing your delusion, and thus making it harder for you to break through and see the truth. Why in the world would you want to deliberately live a delusion?

I used to be visited by an elderly farmer ghost and his wife nightly, they would lean over my bed and try to get me to go with them, I was scared out of my mind. My wife would have to retrieve me from standing up in bed.I'd sleep with a pillow covering my face. I believe the new complex we were living in was built on their farm land. We moved away and they stayed behind. I have also had times when I was warned of future events, but did not make a connection antil after the fact. Example: I drive through the same small town daily, one afternoon I felt that the little bank in that town was going to be robbed, it weighed heavily on my mind, but I said nothing for fear of being called a whacko. The next day the bank was held up.
I told my boss in a certain month I felt he was going to have a life changing event take place, that month came and indeed he had a major thing take place. It's something I don't brag about or claim to be great at., but I have learned to heed my "gut" feelings. On days I wake up and feel a dark cloud hanging over my head, I'm especially alert, because I will hear of a close death, illness, or other tragedy. I find my "intuition" works best when I don't make a big deal out of it and I don't concentrate on trying to interpret future events. I'm becoming fairly good at finishing people's sentences and understanding their thoughts before they speak. Crazy I know, but hey, it just happens, not everyday, but fairly often.

yes it explains, go see a doctor, he will tell to you how it is possible. you don't need to undergo treatment if you don't want to, but at least have him to explain to you what is really happening.

It is very common for ppl that are in social interaction to have shared delusions. The mind has many mysterious paths of communication that we are unaware of.
My sister is a psychoanalyst and has told me of a few cases. my knowledge on the matter is shallow, however.

If your siblings are hearing voices and seeing things, it doesn't mean they are insane. But if they believe that what they are seeing is a reality, they may very well develop a full-blown schizophrenia being overwhelmed by their illusions.

It would be best that they see a doctor so that they can "keep real" and understand what's happening to them.

I said you should see a doctor because I assumed you were seeing things too, of course there is no need for it since you aren't.

Gift are given to all of us, it is up to us to take advantage of the gifts that God has given us. You can use them however you wish. If you have been given the gift of prophecy, then you can go from person to person, or church to church and give prophetic words to people who will know that is from the one and only true God. Or you can use that same gift to sit in some converted old cinderblock home with a florecent flashing light outside the window that says "palms read here". Its free will that allows you to choose who you will serve, but God allready gave you a gift. As for your's, ... well, i dont know the devine plan, but instead of focusing on the gift you may not have, try to seek out the one you do. You will find it in your heart. Possibly through meditation. To be psychic you have to be able to tell what is just mental chatter and what is the correct message that comes into your head and knowing. Seeing spirits/ghosts is different altogether, they may have a gift or it can be the brain able to manifest something that seems real to them but no one else.
