crunches will burn a few calories.
there is no point of doing them every day - you do only harm to your body.
if you are trying to lose belly fat - you are not doing it wright because crunches dont burn any fat - all they do is build muscle and make your belly look bigger.
you can do gazillion crunches but nobody will ever get to see your abs of you have fat on top of them.
the only way to lose fat on any place on your body (we cant spot reduce) is cardio -4-6 times a week for average of 45min.

???

You have it all wrong...

In the amount of time it takes you to do 65 crunches, you won't burn enough calories to even make it worth laying on the floor.

Crunches are meant for developing your abs, and making them stronger. Not fat burning.

If you want to burn fat, do cardiovascular exercise - such as, Running, biking, swimming, etc.

Television ads will minipulate you into thinking that you only have to hop onto thier machine, do a few minutes of ab workouts, and then you'll be ready for the beach. *Shakes head* That's not the way it works...

You need to do a combination of weight training, cardio, and a balanced diet, in order to lose the weight around your mid-section.
