I agree...the best storm I have seen was moving inland in Florida. Constant streaks, sky turning an array of colors such as blue, green red, black with the constant striking of lightning illuminating the sky and sea...the smell of the saltwater being blown off the ocean, watching in move toward you is both exciting and heart pounding frightening as it inches closer....Quite a thrill....

I love thunderstorms!!! The more violent a storm, the better. You can feel the energy in the air and the sky is so beautiful when it fills with lightning. Fork lightning is my personal favorite, although I love it all. There is a sense of anticipation that comes over you when the calm before the storm when you know the sheer power and beauty of nature are about to burst forth with such flare and drama.
I love to be outside during a thunderstorm, but when that's not an option you'll find me watching by a window or door. Of course, I have to calm the cat because she does get scared.

Oh yeah! I absolutely love them too. I sit on my porch and just love the rain pouring down and the lightning pumps me up to a great high, I like! The thunder is glorious, the louder it is the more I like it! Hugs!

Ugh in gym class every year we'd have "relaxation day" where we would just lie on mats and listen to soft music or sounds of nature and do kind of like a meditation thing... and the class could choose between ocean waves and thunderstorms. Usually they'd choose thunderstorms and while everyone was relaxing I was freaking out because I hate them! How are loud booms and cracks of lightning relaxing? Not a clue. I'd take ocean waves any day!

i don't know how anyone could like thunderstorms. i don't mind light rain, but i will completely freak out if there is thunder, heavy pounding rain, or lightning. i have panic attacks if i see odd shaped rain clouds or a tornado warning, so much that i go curl up in bed and have the tv up super loud on a non-local station without warnings or weather........and once i watched a global warming documentary and completely had a screaming freakout because it was raining (intense flooding was shown in the video).

I love thunderstorms. The smell of air, the sound of thunder and the cold wind blowing hard. Its a sensual overdose from nature. Makes you feel small and shows you the true beauty of nature.

Heck No! Maybe if it doesn't include lightening. I sent my husband out this afternoon for ham sandwiches and a severe thunderstorm with high wind and hail blew up. I was so worried about him until he was back home that I cried. I jump at loud cracks of thunder and cringe when there's lightening. I close curtains and lock doors and hold a flash light until it's over.

I think they are a great act of nature. I love to watch the lightening strike and listen for the thunder to follow and wonder how far away the lightening actually is!

I love them. But I wouldn't sit on the porch if there was lightening. Too dangerous.

Thunderstorms are fine, as long as I'm not trying to sleep, the flashing lightning and thunder-claps can be very sleep depriving. If I'm just at home they're fine, just as long as I'm not driving or trying to sleep.
