Where can I find good quality cocoa powder in Los Angeles, CA..
Would a supermarket have it or should I look for it elsewhere?

What are some good brands that taste good that I should look for. I'm looking for something sweet, not bitter or tart.

FYI..I will be making "Brigadeiro" a Brazilian dessert whose recipe calls for a few tablespoons of cocoa powder.

i always use hersheys cocoa powder when i make brigadeiro. i think it tastes the same as the ones in Brasil. the sweetened condensed milk makes it sweet.

All cocoa powder will be bitter. Chocolate is bitter. That's why we add sugar to it.

A good source for cocoa powder is Penzey's. They have several varieties. Their Dutch process is great, but I prefer their natural process cocoa - it's a little darker. I don't know if they have a store in your area (I'm not familiar with California), but they have a web site at www.penzeys.com and a store in Torrance, CA.

Hershey's Cocoa Powder from Ralph's.

Or go to the Penzey's Spice store in Torrance. That would be my first choice!

no cocoa powder is sweet; the sugar in the recipe will make it sweet

Hersey's is the best, but all cocoa powder is unsweetened. You can get it at any grocery store.

If you don't want bitter flavour you can use Hershey's cocoa, is very good.
