I want my face to be completely smooth. I'm already using a facial cleanser that works for me and clears up a lot of my acne but are there any lotions/scrubs I can use on my face that are OIL-FREE (very important!) and have NO salycylic acid (also super important!) and will pretty much NOT interfere with my cleanser?

What about makeup? Are there are foundations that will make my skin look wonderfully smooth and soft even if it really isn't so much underneath?

To make your skin super smooth, I would recommend using Mary Kay's 2 step Microdermabrasion set 2x per week as part of your evening cleansing routine - it's weekends and Wednesdays for me! It has been formulated to be used with ANY skin care line and will give you the finish you are looking for. After you have cleansed your face with your usual cleanser and rinsed it off, very gently massage the Refiner over your entire face, but be sure to avoid the eye and lip areas; then rinse the Refining step off with a wash cloth and use lots of luke warm water-pat your skin dry. Next smooth on the Replenishing step with your finger tips. Ahhhh. Continue with your nighttime moisturizer and eye creams. Some people, especially those with extremely oily or dry skin see an immediate difference. Enjoy!
As for foundations, I would suggest a cream to powder, applied with the finger tips and then smoothed with a slightly damp cosmetic sponge. The foundation will dry with a matte finish that will help to minimize any irregularities in your skins surface. It is very important to pick a shade as close as possible to your natural colouring and to blend it very well along the jawline and hair line and around the eyebrows.

sometimes ppl who are prone to break out exfoliate and cause more break outs because they are to harsh thus striping natural oils and making oil glands go into over time thus causing more irritation and break outs

try this it's natural and very gentle and should only be done 2 - 3 x a wk prior to your regular regime use about a quarter size worth of you regular oil free moisturizer add to that about a tablespoon of baking soda and make a paste with only your fingertips gently massage your facial area and decotage( area just under chin and jaw line in small circular strokes rinse well with tepid( lukewarm water ) and continue w/ your regular routine

the fine abrasive properties gently exfoliate your skin and make it smoother,

drink plenty of water too 8 -10 8 oz servings / day, best hydration works from the inside out
