I wouldn't grind the axe over this. He's clearly somewhat relaxed about childcare, but since nothing serious happened, let it go, but don't let him watch her again. A lot of people don't realize it just takes a couple of seconds of inattention for a little child to really get hurt. I don't think you'll solve anything by being mad or scolding him. But now you'll know.

I could understand if you were a little ( and i do mean a little) upset about that but you should not be mad. The man was nice enough to watch your child for a while, with out pay so he doesn't owe you anything really. Also maybe your child didn't want to be there any more or maybe he didn't want your child to be there any more. Who knows, as long as your child was not harmed or hurt theres nothing for you to be mad about.

Are your child and the neighbor child usually allowed to run between houses by themselves, cuz if so, I wouldn't make too much out of it. Maybe he saw that the party was winding down, or thought it was over. Did you ask him why they came running over alone, and if so, what did he say?

Even good parents have kids that get away. I would ask your neighbor. Kids are sneaky and I don't know one single adult that watches a child every second of every minute. Your a parent you know how kids are!
I am assuming they are older and not toddlers.....
