tip em, 15-20(each) should be good, especially if they have a lot of heavy lifting and they do it fast enough

As a professional mover, we never expect anything, but we sure appreciate the tips when we receive them. It is very common for the homeowners to buy us lunch, and we receive anywhere from $20 - $100 for the tip. It just depends on the homeowner. A lot of people don't realize that it is customary to tip movers, and we certainly would never request one. We just do our best without expectation and enjoy the tip when and if we get one. I would say, however, regardless of whether you choose to tip or not, if it is a long day for them, at least offer them drinks and lunch. With our truck being loaded, we can't exactly leave for a bite to eat, and we do work hard and get very hungry. There is nothing worse then being hungry, and knowing you have a few hours left before you can grab a burger.

Most movers hire their workers on a temp basis from a local pool. Tipping is expected if they do a good job for you. I think you will find out that if they treat you right and your possessions with respect you will want to tip them. It's also a good idea to have bottled water on ice for them. When I moved it was very, very hot and these men worked fast and smart for me. One of the things I didn't realize is that they are normally not required or allowed to take anything off the walls or unfasten things hooked to walls. Mine did it for me anyway. Somehow by the end of the 4 days they were almost like part of the extended family. Yes, I tipped them they went above and beyond and I appreciated it.

I've used them 3 times. Yes tip. They work hard and most of that money goes to the moving company. The last time I moved I tipped them all $20 ea. Since that was 7 years ago, I'd likely tip more now, $25 or $30.

What is important?

What is important is that they do not damage your stuff!

If they take extra care not to break things, make sure they do not damage the walls of the house, not track in dirt, and clean up after themselves, tip each one $10-20.

If you catch them throwing boxes off the truck to a guy on the ground, rolling round table tops across the floor, leaving dirt and grease prints all over the place and in general acting like slobs, do not tip them at all.

I always tip my movers $10-$20 depending how much they moved and how heavy it was. I also offered them something to drink. Once my brother should up with pizza and I offered them slices, too.

Yep, give them $20 each. It's a tough job.

According to Seinfeld, you only have to offer them a drink.
